It is with great excitement that we announce Serra's valedictorians for the Class of 2019.
Juliano Rodriguez (St. Gregory),
Nick Lochrie (Tierra Linda), and
Lee Moyer (St. Gregory) were selected for excellence in academics, leadership and character.
Each student displays the hallmarks of a Serra Padre.
Juliano, who plans to study Business Economics, also considered USC, UC Davis and Santa Clara before choosing to study at UCLA. An outstanding pitcher on the baseball team, Juliano had an offer to play baseball from Santa Clara. He is also a member of Serra's Executive Student Council, the Campus Ministry Leadership Team, and the Big Brothers program. Juliano also participated in Immersion trips to Puerto Rico and East Los Angeles over the past two years.
Nick was awarded the Presidential Scholarship at George Washington University, which is one of the university's highest honors for incoming freshmen. He is president of Serra's Democracy Club, National Honor Society chapter and Trivia Club. A member of Serra's Mock Trial Team and debate team, Nick is interested in pursuing a career in public service after majoring in International Affairs. He has gained valuable experience as an intern for Congresswoman Jackie Speier and Assemblyman Kevin Mullin '88.
Lee will pursue Aerospace Engineering at UCLA. He is a varsity soccer player and is a member of the Mock Trial team and Robotics Club. He won the Harvard Book Award as a junior. The top-ranked public university in the nation by U.S. News, UCLA had an acceptance rate of just 14 percent last year.
Congratulations to these outstanding Padres!

Remembering Don McMullen '59 |
Junipero Serra Award-winner
Don McMullen '59 passed away
unexpectedly on April 30 in El Dorado Hills, CA after spending an enjoyable weekend of doing his favorite things (biking, reading and drinking fine wine with family). He was well-respected in his 52-year banking career and as an active member in his Catholic Church. Don touched many lives with his good-natured spirit, generous heart and positive outlook on life.
He was a strong supporter of Serra and a leader of his Class of 1959. Don was a key member of his class's drive to name the Fine Arts Courtyard. As a result of his efforts, each member of the Class of '59 is honored and remembered on a plaque on the courtyard wall. Please

For more than four decades, Serra has offered a range of summer programs that are geared not only toward academics, but also athletics and the arts.
Serra welcomes girls and boys ages 3-18 during the summer. In addition to summer school, Summer at Serra has eight camps that focus on musical theater, technology skills, swimming, aquatics, rowing, wrestling, athletics and fitness, and classic sports and recreation. Whether your child is looking to hone a skill he or she already has, try a new hobby, or get ahead academically, Summer at Serra offers it all.
Current Serra High School students work as coaches and camp counselors. Many camps provide opportunities for prospective students to build relationships with Serra teachers and coaches and get to know the campus and culture of the school. Please
