If you're thinking about when to buy supplies for Palmer's School Supplies project, August 10-12 would be a great time. That's "Sales Tax Holiday" and almost all standard school supplies are tax-exempt that weekend. Palmer's School Supplies drive benefits Star of Hope's Cornerstone Campus, which is home to many school-aged children and families who do not have the resources to buy school supplies for the start of the school year. With Palmer's help, Star of Hope will ensure that all children living at the Cornerstone Campus receive needed supplies. A list of recommended supplies is available on the collection boxes across from the reception desk in The Chancery and
also by clicking here. All new school supplies will be delivered to the Cornerstone Campus. For more information contact Joan Baird Glover at
[email protected]
The last school year was a time of exciting and unprecedented growth at Autry House, our ministry to Rice University, and we need your support more than ever to ensure that Rice students from next door feel loved and served by their closest neighborhood church. We are putting together our schedule of cooks for our Sunday night meals, and we very much hope that you will consider being on our roster. Sunday services and meals resume August 19 and run through December 2. If you are interested please contact Patrick Hall at
[email protected], or Carole Mather at
[email protected].
MEDIA MINISTRY SOUND TECH NEEDED
Palmer is in need of someone to work in the sound booth Sunday mornings. This is a paid position and will require the person to be present for all Sunday services. Those interested should have some prior experience working with sound equipment. Please contact Glenn Turner if you are interested at [email protected].
