Faith Is a Verb...
Musings By Pastor Tony
July 22, 2016
Starting Aug 7, we are starting small group discussions called New Beginnings. Everyone is invited to be part of these conversations, members, friends, frequent and infrequent worship attendees, as we discover what our gifts and resources are, and then we discern what God is calling us to do with these gifts and resources.

Engaging the Scripture
Sunday July 24, 2016
Why did Jesus' disciples ask him to teach them to pray like John the Baptizer taught his disciples? They were adult male Jews, and therefore would have known all the forms of prayer. So what were they asking for that was new to them?
When Jesus tells them to be persistent in prayer, he also tells them that their prayers will be answered. Yet so many prayers are not answered, at least in a way we can recognize. What does this teaching mean?
Finally, Jesus says that the one he talked to as "Daddy" in heaven would gladly give the Holy Spirit to anyone who asks? How is this evident in our lives? How can we know this is real?
See you Sunday
