Marcella Dalsey

It is with a heavy heart that the NFLA PCC Board brings you the sad news of the passing of another
sister in cheer Marcy Dalsey.  Marcy was killed in the horrific plane crash over the weekend in Bedford, Mass. For those of you who did't know Marcy, she cheered in the 80's and was loved by all that had the pleasure of knowing her.

Marcy was a native of Southern New Jersey whose passionate 30-year commitment to champion the causes of those less fortunate was trumped only by her role as a mother of four.

Marcy began her career at the age of 20 as a young entrepreneur in real estate investment. After leaving the real estate business, Marcy received a degree in Nursing.  She discovered that her real desire was to help those in need. She used her professional experiences to develop long-term partnerships throughout the South Jersey region to benefit her non-profit partners. These partnerships include charitable work with the Food Bank of South Jersey, Volunteers of America Delaware Valley, El Centro, Cooper University Hospital, the Haddonfield and Camden New Jersey public school systems, the Community Resource Warehouse of Camden (for which she was a founding board member), the Boys & Girls Club of Camden County, and the Camden Charter School Network.

She worked on events for The Michael Bolton Foundation, The Chris Evert Foundation, The Phil Donahue Show, The Leeza Gibbons Show, and Share Our Strength. In May 2011, she worked on the team that hosted the Dalai Lama at a three day global Peace Summit in Newark NJ.

Professionally, Marcella has worked as a loan officer for JP Morgan Chase and Wells Fargo. She managed Carroll-McIlhinney, Inc., a Commercial Real Estate Appraisal firm in Vorhees, NJ. In 1995, she opened Gracie's Ice Cream Parlor in Haddonfield, New Jersey. She was the Executive Director of The Drew A. Katz Foundation, and President of KATZ Academy Charter School for which she co-founded with Lewis Katz.  KATZ Academy Charter School, which opened in 9/2012, is a partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of Camden County that provides a strong academic curriculum and recreational enrichment program to children living in Camden, NJ.

Our condolences to our fellow alumni who have lost a dear friend. Please, keep her family and friends in your prayers. When more information is available, we will send out another email with all the info.
