Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception

Tomorrow, December 8 we celebrate the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, patroness of the United States. There will be no school on this holyday, so please be mindful of the obligation to attend Holy Mass at your local parish church as we ask Our Lady’s intercession on our Carroll community, our nation, and our world.

Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe

The Respect Life Club welcomes all members of the Carroll community to a celebration in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe, patroness of the Americas and of the pro-life movement. Holy Mass will be celebrated on Friday, December 16 at 2:30 pm in chapel, followed by a guest speaker and refreshments. Any questions, please contact moderator Mr. Barry Kirsch - [email protected]

Congratulations Brittany Young '17

Congratulations to Brittany S. Young, class of 2017 and editor of Carroll Times, who has been designated a semi-finalist in the Coca -Cola Scholars Program.

There were 87,000 applicants, nationwide. At this time, Brittany has progressed in the competition and is now one of 2,000 still in the process.

There are at least two more levels to the competition, so we wish Brittany the best of luck as she continues to compete in this prestigious program.

Our Carroll family is very proud of Brittany’s achievement!

From International Education Opportunities
At this time of year, Global Connections Homestay starts preparing for the arrival of international students who will begin classes at Carroll in the second semester.

Part of this process is readying host families and matching them with an enrolled student. Our number one request from families abroad is to have their child live with a member of the school community. Whether it be a teacher, coach, staff member, or especially a family with children attending the same school, this type of placement makes the family and student feel comfortable and safe.

Host families are paid a monthly stipend to offset costs, and we also provide a $300 gift to any referrals that result in a student placement. This gift is for current host families, or those that cannot host but know a family that can!

For more information or to apply, please email us at [email protected] or call 215-259-4055.

We wish you and your family the best during the holiday season.

With gratitude,

The Global Connections Homestay Team
