"Play Ball! The Time Has Arrived!"

Dear Archbishop Carroll Community,

After nearly four years of negotiations, planning and execution, Archbishop Carroll's spectacular turf baseball field is ready to go. Based on our partnership with and financial support from Cabrini university, the first pitch is ready to be thrown this Saturday, April 1.

Ribbon Cutting and Opening Day Festivities start at 12:30pm, Saturday, culminating with ceremonial first pitches by the school's very first two coaches - Mr. Barry Kirsch and Mr. Paul McGeehan.

Please stop by to enjoy all the festivities - including delicious traditional baseball food.

Go Patriots!

Junior Retreat

On Wednesday, April 5 the Class of 2018 will have their annual retreat. The day will begin in homeroom and lead into the celebration of Holy Mass. Following Mass, Ms. Jannique Stewart, a national speaker from the “Love Matters” organization will lead students in reflection and activities on love and relationships, stemming from the Christian understanding of human sexuality. The retreat will take place at Archbishop Carroll and conclude around 12:30 pm. Students should have received information sheets on the day through their Theology class.

Parents and guardians are reminded not to schedule any appointments or family activities on this day as it is mandatory for all Juniors in order to advance to Senior year and/or attend prom. Please keep the Class of 2018 in your prayers as they participate in their retreat and celebrate their Ring Mass on Friday, April 7.

Holy Thursday

For the past six years we have brought a very old Paschal Triduum tradition to Archbishop Carroll. On Holy Thursday evening it is customary to attend the Mass of the Lord’s Supper and then to make a visit the Blessed Sacrament in area churches, “keeping watch” with Jesus in imitation of his night in the Garden of Gethsemane . This year we will be continuing that tradition by starting with Mass at the West Chester University Catholic Newman Center at 7:00 PM. Following Mass, we will proceed to three area churches for our visits to the Blessed Sacrament. This will be followed by another “tradition”: a stop at a local diner for our own “last meal” before the Good Friday fast. Anyone in the Carroll community wishing to join can sign up outside the Campus Ministry Center (Room 222) if you wish to ride the bus, which will depart at 6:00 pm on Thursday, April 13 from Carroll and return around 11:30 pm that same evening. Any questions, please email [email protected].
