2015 National Honor Society inductees

Dear Archbishop Carroll Community,

The National Honor Society was founded in 1921 and the four pillars that have guided the organization from the beginning are scholarship, service, leadership and character. These ideals of scholastic achievement, service to others, leadership and character inform the selection of our members.

The process is arduous both for applicants and for the Faculty Council who make the decision as to whether or not to admit the candidate, so it is really a pleasure to oversee the induction of 76 new members tonight.

During the course of the year, all of our members will be involved in service projects, planning Career Day, tutoring and running our first Basketball Tournament in honor of Dominic Coyle ’17.

As advisors, we welcome the opportunity to work with such talented group of students and, of course our officers and committee chairs whose names follow:

Brittany Sterling Young - President
Melissa Guitierrez - Vice President
Rose Kokol - Secretary
Madison Bristowe - Treasurer
Ryan McCarthy - Basketball Tournament Chair
Annie McDevitt - Career Day Chair
Arianna Raikes - Events Chair

Shane Brady-- Publicity

Tess Gibbons - Service Chair
Sofia Sowden - Tutoring

Tonight is also a particular pleasure for us as welcome back as our speaker Lisa Gainor a former faculty member.  We look forward to beginning our work with the NHS and hope that all of our students have opportunities to exemplify the pillars of the NHS—Leadership, Scholarship, Character and Service.

Please join the Carroll community in asking God to send more workers into his harvest and to keep in prayer those who are discerning, including our own Gregory Miller ’15, who continues studies at Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary.
