Message from Tim Lam

August is a month to come up for breath for many in the hospitality industry. This month is often slower for conferences and hotel occupancy in many areas of the country. A slower time means vacation, a little more relaxation and a reflection on what is important in one's life and career.

August is also the time people consider continuing education since the fall semester is just around the corner. TISOH will be busy counseling students on their next steps this month.

Administrators will also take time to further their own learning. Several will be attending the Meeting Professionals International (MPI) conference in San Francisco. They will also share research done over the past year with academic colleagues at a presentation on competency modeling and certifications.

As you reflect on the next steps in your career progression, contact TISOH if advancing or beginning in hospitality is of interest. We will be happy to discuss whether your future endeavors lie with the school or not.

Sincerely,

TISOH Executive Director

Our talented wedding project makers!

The Wedding Coordination and Design students are tasked to create a design "dream" board as part of their project to showcase the theme and style of their wedding design. Here are some of their creations!  The wedding curriculum truly tested their new found skills as they went through the full A to Z process from initial couple consultation, to pre-planning, proposal stage, production schedule, timeline creation, choosing creative partners, theming and design, to final fruition and post production.  Each student's final project portfolio charts the full journey with the benefit of their instructor's feedback. Congratulations to our wedding students for your hard work and achievement!
