Message from Tim Lam

Summer is almost over and school is starting again. Morning traffic will be a little more difficult! September, as with the beginning of any semester, is a fresh start. We look forward to excited and enthusiastic students coming to class to learn and explore in a non-threatening surrounding.
What can be better than learning with fellow enthusiasts, exploring new ideas, new careers and seeing where one fits in. School is a laboratory. Where everyone is free to experiment with little to no consequence.

We look forward to welcoming the fall semester. There will be much learning, much laughter and new friendships. To those joining TISOH, welcome! To our dear alums and industry colleagues, consider coming back to share your knowledge. Let us build the next generation together.

Sincerely,

TISOH Executive Director

TISOH Fall Back into Summer Alumni Mixer Recap

The latest TISOH mixer was a blast!  TISOH alums, current students, industry friends, administrators and faculty were on hand to mix and mingle at the trendy NM Cafe at Neiman Marcus.  Behind the glittering lights of the Las Vegas Strip, DJ Tunix provided the tunes as the attendees enjoyed great food and signature beverages.  The night was capped off by a wonderful talk featuring the inimitable Scheme Events team, Rissa, Tara, and Traci.  These three enterprising women are among our most illuminating alums and they return to share their remarkable story of entrepreneurship as they recount the early days of setting up their now 5 year old and highly successful event and wedding planning business.  www.schemeevents.com

TISOH unveils second iteration of the Design Lab

The TISOH Design Lab has a new look!  Special thanks to our incredible design team led by Lenny Talarico CSEP Director of MGM Resorts Event Productions, our primary sponsor for this most creative space.  The current design is a wedding theme with two beautifully decorated rounds and a sweethearts corner.  This Design Lab was featured in Special Events magazine.  We are so proud and honored to have such excellent sponsors help showcase the latest trends and lighting and decor to our aspiring professional students!
