The Pirate Treasure
celebrating the excellence of Pine Tree ISD

Pine Tree Primary - Our Littlest Pirates

Yee! Haw! Hey there Pirates. Let me show you a little fun we had at Primary Texas Day. Students rotated through stations playing games, having snacks, learning about chickens, and why cattle are branded.

Mr. Campbell brought his baby chicks and adult chickens for the students to compare and observe.  Games and races included the jean race, wagon race, stick horse race, rope the pony, seed spitting, square dancing and even milking a cow!

Texas Day is a annual tradition at PT Primary. Without great parent volunteers, it wouldn't be possible.

Parkway Elementary...
Introducing 2 NEW Physical Education Programs to Pine Tree

Our PE program at Parkway is just exploding with fun and excitement.   Two new incredible programs have been introduced.   The 1st exciting program is called SNAG (Starting New In Golf) which is bringing golf to the elementary level.

We were very fortunate to have golf pro Mr. Roy Pace come to our campus to introduce this program to our students. You never know.......we might be training a future Masters Champion!

The 2nd program that will be bringing extra fun and excitement and lots of hand-eye coordination to Parkway students is Speed Stacking. Our two amazing coaches were awarded a grant by our own Pine Tree Education Foundation.

This grant will allow our coaches to teach cup/speed stacking to our students next school year. The 2017-2018 school year is already looking awesome!

Middle School

The week of April 17th Pine Tree Middle School held its 3 on 3 basketball tournament .  Students chose their own teams and their creative team names.  Teams practiced after school to perfect their skills.  When the big day  arrived, the gym was packed  with parents,  teachers and students cheering for their favorite team.

Each team faced a single game elimination, however  the teams eliminated were ready to cheer for the teams who moved on to the semi finals. High School Preparing to end Successful School Year

May is here, and that means the end of another school year. Pine Tree seniors enjoyed prom on April 29 and are now ready to walk across the graduation stage on May 26.

Approximately 250 seniors and their guests enjoyed a blustery evening last Saturday at The Summit Club for the 2017 Prom. Despite winds and the threat of rain, seniors walked through Promenade and then danced the night away to DJ music. The DJ also announced Senior Superlatives and there was a special moment of silence in memory of Josh Warren.

The after prom was held at the Pine Tree Junior High cafeteria and was a casino night where students could earn prizes for the amount of chips they obtained playing games.

National Honor Society held its induction banquet Monday in the theatre. Students were given a letterman's patch and other items as they became members of the prestigious organization.

This week is AP and STAAR testing on the Pine Tree campus. The STAAR tests will be U.S. History, and freshmen will be taking Biology and Algebra during the school day. AP tests are across the board and will be held in Central Office facilities during the school day.

Top Ten will be announced this week, so seniors can find out who the honor graduates are including the Valedictorian and Salutatorian. These students will be recognized during graduation.

Track sent 12 athletes to regionals this past Saturday in Arlington with the hopes of having athletes go to state in Austin in the future.  .

Drill team recently held tryouts and named officers for next year as well as the line.

Softball ended their season last Monday, with Baseball ending their season Friday.

Marissa Gary signed with Jacksonville College to play basketball, and other athletes are still deciding their plans after graduation.

Choir Pop Show will be May 13 in the Pine Tree Theatre and will feature swing music that choir members have worked on recently.

Powder Puff football game, featuring young ladies on the gridiron, will be Friday, May 5 at the stadium beginning at 5 p.m.

Spring football will start soon, signaling the beginning of activities for next year, and sports banquets are being held as well. The swim team will also hold tryouts in the next few weeks.   UIL Academic Desert Banquet is scheduled May 16 in the high school cafeteria.

School is reaching an end at Pine Tree for the 2016-2017 year, and administrators maintain it has been a very good year here at PTHS.
