2018 PPAChicago Showcase a Success!
Thank you to everyone who attended this year's PPAChicago Showcase. 150 exhibitors (including 13 First Time Exhibitors) and over 1200 attendees filled the Arlington International Racecourse on March 8th. This is the one time our Chicagoland distributors get the opportunity to invite their clients to see product ideas from such a large group of suppliers. Orbus Demonstrates Commitment to Quality & Environmental Management and Recycles Over 410 Tons of Waste in 2017
Woodridge, IL - March 16, 2017: Orbus Exhibit & Display Group®, one of North American's leading trade
suppliers and manufacturers of display, exhibit and event solutions is proud to announce that its Woodridge, IL and Las Vegas, NV facilities have both recently achieved the most current ISO certifications for Quality and Environmental Management. Through earning ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certifications, Orbus demonstrates a continuous commitment to quality and environmental management. Its formal and well-documented processes in place to reduce risks for quality,
environmental, and safety issues.
In 2017 alone, Orbus' recycling efforts diverted 537,000lbs. of cardboard, cores and paper as well as 188,000lbs. of plastic from being dumped into landfills. Recycling bins in employee lunch rooms, cubicles and offices, along with fabric, plastic and paper recycling programs in warehouses encourage and enable such results. In addition, Orbus recycles batteries, electronics, old pallets and skids, and steel.
In 2017, Orbus partnered with Donco Recycling Solutions to recycle cardboard cores left over after the company's dye-sublimation printing process. Rather than being buried in a landfill, the cores with paper are brought to a recycling plant to be turned into boxes, board games and more. In less than one year, Orbus managed to recycle over 180,000lbs of cores with Donco.
Orbus also takes part in UPS's Carbon Neutral Shipping Program, which mitigates CO2. The mitigated CO2 is turned into Carbon Credits by UPS, and are donated to environmentally friendly responsible programs.

R.S. Owens creates the 20th annual Costume Designer Guild Awards
Chicago awards manufacturer produces Costume Designer Guild Award for the first time in America.
BEVERLY HILLS, CA - February 20, 2018 -
R.S. Owens is pleased to announce the creation of the 20
th
annual Costume Designer Guild Awards for a February 20,
Beverly Hills star-studded event. For the first time in the history of the awards the stunning figure was made in America by the artisans of R.S. Owens. The molds for this award are some of the most complex ever created using over 30 parts to cast the swirling garment figure. After casting, the figure is hand-chased to create deeper curves to enhance the draped figure. The final step is applying a satin silver finish which recreates the sterling plating of original Italian design. The figure is mounted to a black optical crystal base and the plate is attached when the winners are announced.
The award was created to celebrate the creations of Hollywood's top costume designers, actors and directors and is given prior to the Oscar® awards. Many of the winners tend to predict the Oscar® recipients such as Guillermo del Toro, prior to his win for Best Picture and Best Director Oscars®, also took home the Costume Designer Guild's Distinguished Collaborator Award. Other winners included Kerry Washington and Lindy Hemming.
