PRAY WITHOUT CEASING
Please join your church in praying for the following requests for the life and mission of the church:

+ Please pray for our women as they travel to the coast this weekend for the Women's Retreat, that the Lord will speak to them of his love and strength in the face of fears, trials and anxiousness.

+ Pray also for Brian Mann and his staff as they follow up from last week's InterVarsity Greek (fraternity/sorority) Conference, helping students who accepted Christ to continue in him, and helping student leaders to follow and serve Christ.

+ Please pray also for the poor, the refugee, the widow, the orphan and all who suffer or are in any kind of trouble, that the Lord will be their help, and that he will engage us in his work to care for them as a church body.

STORIES OF APOSTLES
Baptism Story ~ Stephen Sumrall, Raleigh Fellow
I sat completely alone in the church pew. All ninety pounds and five-and-a-half-ish feet of my skinny frame hunched over trying to be even smaller than I already was. Eyes closed and head resting on my forearms. Forearms firmly crossed over my knees. I desperately wanted to disappear.  READ MORE

WHAT'S HAPPENING AT APOSTLES

Drop in between 5-7pm for music, fun and fellowship ... and pancakes!

What is Shrove Tuesday?   Shrove Tuesday occurs the first Tuesday before Ash Wednesday.  I t officially ends the season of Epiphany  and is the vigil for the starting of Lent. Traditionally viewed as a day of repentance, Shrove Tuesday has become the last day for celebration and feasting before the period of fasting during the Lenten season.

Ash Wednesday Service ~ March 1, 6:30pm

Lent begins with Ash Wednesday. Unlike the blinding, deafening excess to which we are accustomed, the Ash Wednesday service leads us into a quiet, dimly-lit sanctuary. The Scriptures plainly testify to our depravity. Crooked, dead and twisted branches replace the typically bright floral arrangements, reminding us that crooked sin leads to death.

We confess the frequent ugliness of our thoughts, words and deeds. We remember that no one is righteous, not even one of us. And as a cross of dark ashes paints our foreheads, the room resounds with some of the most important words we will hear all year: Remember that you are dust. And to dust you shall return.

Does your hobby or profession include any of the following? basket making, ceramics, drawing, glassblowing, graphic design, hand-lettering & calligraphy, leather crafting, metalsmithing, painting, photography, poster design, pottery, textile arts (appliqué, crocheting, knitting, quilting, sewing), sculpture, stained glass, woodworking?

In his book, Don't Waste Your Life, John Piper said "If you are God, your work is to create out of  nothing. If you are not God, but like God-that is, if you are human-your work is to take what God has made and shape it and use it to make Him look great." What better way to bring glory to the Lord than to offer Him the creative gifts he has bestowed upon us! To find out more please join us!
