FAIRFIELD INN & SUITES CHATTANOOGA AND CHATTANOOGA SOUTH/EAST RIDGE, AND 3H GROUP STAFF COLLABORATED WITH LOCAL HABITAT FOR HUMANITY CHAPTER

Last October, Fairfield Inn & Suites Chattanooga, Fairfield Inn & Suites Chattanooga South/East Ridge, and 3H Group Hotels staff teamed up with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga for Fairfield by Marriott’s annual Rally to Serve initiative. The two Chattanooga Fairfield Inn & Suites hotels, along with members of the 3H staff, worked together to paint the interior of a home. The teams primed, painted, and sealed every wall and ceiling of the brand-new house. While the work was grueling, it was rewarding for all involved.

The home, located in the Orchard Knob area of Chattanooga, was completed around Christmas – just in time for the holidays for the very deserving family. This home is one of the many homes that the local Habitat for Humanity chapter annually provides to low-income families. Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga partners with volunteers and low income families to build affordable homes that are sold to local families at no profit and with no interest.
SPRINGHILL SUITES CHATTANOOGA SAVE ART! CAMPAIGN BOLSTERS ART EDUCATION IN UNDER-RESOURCED SCHOOLS
This past October, SpringHill Suites Chattanooga Downtown held their 4th Annual Save Art! Night fundraiser, an initiative that provides under-resourced schools much needed art supplies. In collaboration with the Fresh Artists, a non-profit organization that brings quality art supplies and innovative art programs to schools in need, SpringHill Suites Chattanooga proudly participates in the fundraiser that centralizes on Art education as a critical component in a student’s academic and social development.

The hotel chose Lookout Valley Elementary to be the 2016 Save Art! benefactor. In addition to the school’s Title I funding being cut for the 2016-2017 school year, Lookout Valley also has a struggling art program. By setting a fundraising goal of $1,500.00, SpringHill Suites hoped to breathe new life into the art program at Lookout Valley Elementary by providing the staff and students new art supplies. “When I met with Principal Taylor, and Ms. Rogers (as well as the art on a cart), I knew immediately that choosing Lookout Valley Elementary was the right choice,” said Dwayne Massengale, General Manager at SpringHill Suites Chattanooga Downtown.

This year’s Save Art! Night included a performance by the school’s chorus, an art show featuring pieces by the students, a raffle, live entertainment, and so much more.
SPRINGHILL SUITES CHATTANOOGA DOWNTOWN PARTNERED WITH LOCAL SCHOOL PROGRAM TO SPREAD ‘THE GOOD’ THROUGH LOCAL COMMUNITY

SpringHill Suites Chattanooga Downtown/Cameron Harbor partnered with Catoosa County School's Be the Good Campaign to help spread the good. On October 20th, hundreds of Catoosa County students, from kindergartners to high schoolers, kicked off a year-long campaign to bring more good into the world. The hope of this system-wide program, which includes six schools, is for every school to choose an act of kindness or goodness each month that will give thanks to those who serve the community. There is no limit to the good that can be done.

This program hopes to teach the students that even the smallest act of kindness can have a huge impact on the community. Instilling that mentality into the young students of today will pave the way for the future of society. SpringHill Suites Chattanooga is proud to sponsor a program that will do so much good for the community.

TOWNEPLACE SUITES GAINESVILLE NORTHWEST GIVES THE GIFT OF WARMTH TO CHILDREN IN NEED THIS WINTER SEASON

TownePlace Suites Gainesville Northwest partnered with the University of Florida Health Shands Children’s Hospital to spread the holiday cheer by creating handmade blankets for their patients. Hoping to donate the blankets around the holidays, the staff started raising funds in October. While the money raised went towards the blanket-making kits, those that donated were entered to win raffle prizes, which included a complimentary night’s stay and various University of Florida memorabilia.

On November 22, the staff celebrated Thanksgiving with a staff luncheon, and during the luncheon they assembled 60 blankets for the children at UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital. In total, the staff raised over $470 and completed 80 blankets that were delivered to the hospital before Christmas.
FAIRFIELD INN & SUITES CONWAY WORKED WITH HABITAT FOR HUMANITY ON HOUSE BUILD FOR LOCAL FAMILY
In October of 2016, Fairfield Inn & Suites Conway had the opportunity to volunteer with Habitat for Humanity of Central Arkansas as a part of Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott's Rally to Serve initiative. The staff helped add finishing touches to a house build for a deserving family. The staff was very thankful for the opportunity to give back to the community and participate in such a rewarding experience.
COMFORT INN CHATTANOOGA ASSISTED WITH THANKSGIVING DINNER AND LOCAL FOOD DRIVE FOR HOMELESS SHELTER
Every year, the Chattanooga-based homeless shelter, the Bethlehem Center, feeds over 300 community members with their annual Thanksgiving dinner. Multiple community organizations contribute to this event spreading a little cheer to kick off the holiday season. This year, members of the Comfort Inn Chattanooga staff helped prepare and serve free Thanksgiving dinner to members of the community. This event allows the Bethlehem Center as well as partners in the community like Comfort Inn Chattanooga Downtown, to spread the Thanksgiving spirit with the Alton Park community in Chattanooga.
COMFORT INN CHATTANOOGA HELPED READ TO LEAD STUDENTS SHOP FOR CHRISTMAS GIFTS

Just before Christmas time, members of the Comfort Inn Chattanooga staff helped students shop for Christmas gifts for themselves and their loved ones at the Walmart on Cummings Highway. Students from the Read to Lead Academy earned between $25-$100 for academic progress, behavioral improvement, and demonstrated leadership during the after-school program.

This volunteer opportunity provided members of the staff with the chance to reach out into the inner city. They served as personal shoppers, organized students' items, and helped the students budget their Christmas money.

3H STAFF GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND
On New Year’s Day, the Front Desk Supervisor at TownePlace Suites Gainesville Northwest found a dog that was hanging out in the back of the hotel. The Front Desk Supervisor and some guests brought the lost dog to the to the vet to see if he was micro-chipped as he had no tags, but sadly, he had no chip. The staff cared for him throughout the day and took turns walking him while they tried to locate the dog's owners.

After hours of searching to no avail, Fred Stover, the hotel's General Manager, brought a crate in and bought food for the dog to eat while they waited. That night, desk clerks, Mike & Gabriel took turns caring for him and walking him. Gabriel offered to take him home so that the dog would have a kennel of his own until the owner was located.

Two days later, the owner contacted the hotel after they found the posts on Gainesville Pet Finder and Craigslist that were shared by the staff. That night, the owner was happily reunited with their lost pet, Rebel!
