The Republic of Congo recently completed an economic analysis of the costs and benefits of its strategic options for REDD+ and a review of the sources of financing for the implementation of its National REDD+ Strategy. A delegation of Nigerian federal and state government officials visited South Korea from 24 February to 1 March 2017 to explore a strategic partnership on REDD+, sustainable forest management and green growth. 
For two weeks in late November and early December 2016, a masters' level course in MRV for REDD+ was held for Pacific Island countries at the University of Melbourne's Creswick Campus.

To promote knowledge exchange and support countries in integrating a gender perspective within their REDD+ action, the UN-REDD Programme has recently released a new paper on  Approaches and Experiences on Gender in REDD+ Processes in Latin America: Lessons from Chile, Ecuador, Panama and Peru (available in Spanish)

En la ciudad de Quito, Ecuador, se dio inicio al taller de capacitación sobre las plataformas Google Earth Engine, System for Earth Observation Data Access, Processing & Analysis for Land Monitoring para la generación de mapas de bosque no bosque, detección de cambios y deforestación.
Improved forest monitoring systems, a critical measure on the road to implementing REDD+, have advanced significantly in Sri Lanka with the launch of an online geoportal that will help the country move close to achieving its development and mitigation targets.
