Traffic Flow & Student Pick-Up
Parents/Guardians:

In an effort to make drop off and pick up of your student a little more fluid, we have enclosed a traffic flow map. It is color-coordinated and should be easy to understand. We are aware that traffic enters our school from two different directions, and sometimes this can create unique challenges. If you will look at the traffic flow map, it will help you navigate through the school a little more easily.

The second map highlights some of the trouble spots on campus. One issue that stops the flow of traffic is dropping off or picking up students at the stop sign near the main entrance, or out in the streets by the pond in front of the school. Please refrain from doing this as it inhibits the flow of traffic. We also ask that you do not block the “thru-lanes” as you wait to pick up your child. These lanes allow buses, commercial and district vehicles to enter and leave quickly. Please refrain from picking up your child in the back of the school. This creates havoc for our buses.

We appreciate your help. Feel free to call us if you have questions or concerns.

Our wonderful librarian, Mrs. Flynt, is inviting teachers and students to “Booktalks and Bagels” in the library! Bring a book(s) that you’ve enjoyed reading lately to share with others, and get some ideas for books that you’d like to read next. We’ll eat some bagels and cream cheese, juice and coffee.
Extraordinary Panthers
Panthers Provide For Those Affected By Hurricane Harvey

The week after Hurricane Harvey ripped through south Texas and poured record rain on Houston, the Panther Pride jumped into action to provide support for our fellow Texans. We launched a three-day fundraiser for the Houston Food Bank who is providing food for those displaced from the storms. For every dollar given, three meals are provided. Mr. Hadley set the goal of providing 10,000 meals. In true Ridge fashion, we were able to not only meet, but exceed our goal by providing 14,535 meals and raising over $4800.

Another opportunity to give came when former FRHS counselor Molly Brinkley, now a counselor in hard hit Lumberton, Texas reached out to us. We had just two days to collect school supplies, backpacks, toiletries and clothing for students who had lost everything. The office quickly began filling with donations from the our students and people in the community. One of our staff members even collected $500 in donations from friends to purchase supplies. We received so many donations that they had to be split up between multiple vehicles. There were still supplies that weren't able to fit, and we decided to give them to Chisholm Trail Intermediate who has adopted an elementary school in Rosenberg, Texas.

We honor all Ridge students and staff as our Extraordinary Panthers of the week! Your compassion and generosity spoke volumes about your character and your willingness to help others in time of great need.
