Special Collection this Sunday, Oct 1: Hurricane Victims in Puerto Rico
The UUA has established the UUA Disaster Relief Fund (formerly Hurricane Irma Recovery Fund) to assist congregations – including in Puerto Rico and in the U.S. Virgin Islands where we have UU Fellowships on St. Croix and St. John – to repair any damage, and to respond to the needs of their members and their community’s efforts to recover. UUA staff is working closely with leaders in the Association's Southern Region to ascertain where the need is greatest and to distribute funds efficiently. If you prefer to donate by mail, please make your check payable to the UUA with "Disaster Relief Fund" on the memo line, and send to UUA Gift Processing, 24 Farnsworth St, Boston, MA 02210 .

Limited Time Only - 10% Matching Opportunity for Planned Giving
If you name FUSW as a beneficiary in your will, your IRA, or other legacy gift, this will result in a 10% cash match from the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA).
The UUA’s Wake Now Our Vision Legacy Challenge , made possible by a generous grant, is designed to promote and inspire planned giving among Unitarian Universalists. the Challenge will match new legacy gift intentions with a cash match of 10% of the gift's estimated value (up to a maximum $10,000 match on a $100,000 planned gift). The Challenge is in effect this year and until December 31, 2018. A strong planned giving program can transform our congregation and fortify our finances for generations to come. For more information, please contact our Planned Giving Committee: Rob Carroll ( robtcarrol@aol.com ), Bob Kinney ( kinlaw2@verizon.net ), Diane Guernsey ( dianeguernsey.uu@gmail.com ), Bill Reynolds ( wreynolds12@outlook.com ). Personal information will be kept confidential.

Future of Faith Formation ~ Preparing for Creative Imagining

This year, we will discuss ways in which we might adapt to changing demographics, exploring what the future of all ages faith formation might look like at FUSW. It takes a community to offer meaningful and robust Religious Education, and we hope this will be a congregation-wide conversation. Tracy is blogging about the modules she is participating in through the UU Leadership Institute. Click here to read Tracy's future of faith formation blog.

We've been very lucky to hire Pam Parker to serve our congregation for 6 hours a week from home. Pam will create the Scoop (phew!), update our web page, manage our database, and do some other administrative tasks. She can be reached at: pam.fusw@gmail.com
