SU Teachers of Promise Recognized at Annual Celebration The Teachers of Promise is a Maryland State Department of Education program that recognizes outstanding interns from the state’s teacher education institutions.  The interns are nominated by their field supervisors for outstanding performance in their classrooms, academic records are investigated, and the interns’ intentions to stay and work in Maryland upon graduation are sought by the committee.  Read More...

Remembering Dr. Ernie Bond

Ernest L. Bond, better known by all as “Ernie,” suddenly passed away on Tuesday morning, September 20, 2016. It was a shock to everyone, and our Teacher Education Department family miss him greatly. He added such zest and energy to everyone, coming in to work each morning with a hearty “hello” and shortly thereafter a rumble of laughter at something that touched his heart. Read more...

MD Holocaust Educators Network Summer Institute In June 2016, 15 Eastern Shore educators participated in the Maryland Holocaust Educators Network Summer Institute. In addition to in-depth study during the week, the teachers visited the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM), where they met several survivors.
