It is my pleasure to be a part of The Silver Academy!!! Thank you for sending your children to OUR school and recommending us to other families. Together we have the unique opportunity to showcase our school and the achievements of our students. Our success will be driven by the core beliefs that all students can learn, that relationships are central to success, and that all of our students are gifts whose contributions are invaluable to our community. Prior to joining The Silver Academy, Mrs. Freeburn had an extensive and rewarding career in education, beginning as a Speech Pathologist with a local preschool program. From there, Debra started a 24-year career in the Central Dauphin School District, first as an ESL teacher and then as the Assistant Principal...all at East Middle School. Debra holds an undergraduate degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, a Master's degree in English and a Master's degree in English as a Second Language from Penn State, and a Principal's certification and additional Master's degree from Cabrini College.

On a personal level, Debra has been married to Richard Freeburn for forty years, and they are the parents of Sarah (Morgenstern) and Gregg Freeburn. The Freeburns have been blessed with five wonderful, amazing, and talented grandchildren. Sarah and Jordan have three children: Max (8 yrs), Michael (6 yrs), and Maddy (3 yrs). Gregg and Emily (Doctrow) have two children: Lillian (18 months) and Sydney (3 days old!!).

Lindsay Hameroff recently moved to Harrisburg with her husband, Avi, and daughter, Jordana. She and her husband grew up in Baltimore, and spent the past four years in Brooklyn, NY.

This year will add a new grade level to Mrs. Hameroff's resume; she has taught English and History to students in grades 5-12, and has also worked as a Reading Specialist. Lindsay has a Bachelor's degree in English from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a Master's degree in Reading Education from Towson University.

In her free time, Lindsay enjoys cooking for friends and family, reading, and surfing Pinterest. She is looking forward to working with the wonderful community of students and their families at The Silver Academy, and getting to know everyone this year!

Yasminah is a NJ native who comes from a family of educators. Her paternal grandfather was a Rabbi who educated Jews of Color, and her parents were teachers. After having assisted her mother with her kindergarten class, Yasminah knew that she would dedicate her life to education. Since then she has been a teacher in South Jersey, Philadelphia, Israel, and Canada. Morah Huberman also enjoys tutoring students one-on-one. Yasminah and her husband moved to Harrisburg in 2016 and now have a beautiful daughter. She looks forward to teaching kindergarten Judaics at The Silver Academy!
