Learn More About the Latest SPBID Streetscape Pilot Project

"The Spot @ Hope St" is a proposed pilot project that would temporarily repurpose lanes on Hope St. between 11th and 12th St. into a community gathering space.  The pilot has received significant support from stakeholders and a favorable editorial from the Downtown News as respondents have highlighted the need for more green space in the neighborhood. Community members have also brought up some concerns that are currently being worked through. The proposed pilot will be discussed next at the  SPBID Board of Directors meeting at 8:30 AM on Feb. 25th .

Outreach to the community has included meetings with local businesses, HOA boards and residents, as well as a a community meeting on January 27, 2016.  Along with representatives from Melendrez Landscape Architects and the DoArt Foundation, 19 community members attended and had the chance to provide input on the proposal.  Community members have also provided feedback through The Spot @ Hope St. Project page .

If you have comments or concerns about this pilot project, please submit your feedback to The Spot @ Hope St project page so that we can take your thoughts into consideration as we move forward with this project.

Coverage of The Spot @ Hope St includes the Los Angeles Business Journal, LAist, Curbed LA, and the LA Downtown News.
