Grandparents and Grandfriends Day

November 19 & 20, 2018
Historic Church
|
|
|
|
One of our favorite traditions, Grandparents and Grandfriends Day, is coming up on November 19th and 20th. In order for these special visitors to receive an invitation we must have their contact information which is taken from the Grandparent Form located on the
Parent’s Page
on our website.
If you have not yet completed the form, please do so by 9/17. If you would like to bring a special friend in lieu of a grandparent, please contact
Lisa Hermodsson at
[email protected]
.
Even if Grandparents cannot attend, we would like their information so that we can send them occasional newsletters to keep them up-to-date on SJPDS happenings.
For more information please contact Lisa Hermodsson, Director of Development, at

PARENTS' ASSOCIATION NEWS
|
|
|
|
On Behalf of the Parents’ Association, thank you to all of the parent volunteers who helped kick off the school year! I would like to thank Megan Reuwer for serving as Chair of the Welcome Back Social and all those who supported this effort. The popsicles and playground time certainly helped ease our students' transition from summer to school.
Our second social event, the Boohoo/Yahoo brunch, was a group event made possible by many helping hands. I'd like to thank those that contributed their time with set-up, clean up and food preparation. The brunch was a great opportunity to meet other parents, meet faculty/administration and to celebrate the start of the year. Thank you to all of you who contributed to these inaugural events to the 2018-2019 school year!
Finally, a special thank you to all parents who have already volunteered to chair or assist with PA Autumn Special Events. We are still in need of volunteers for several crucial roles, including Fall Family Fun Fest/Trunk or Treat (10/28 from 1- 4pm) and for Family Date Night (11/30).
Please visit the sign-up genius page under “Quick Links” at
www.stjohnspds.org
.
You may also contact Volunteer Coordinator, Allison Heussler (
[email protected]
) or VP of Special Events, Katie Burns (
[email protected]
) if you’d like to volunteer or have questions.
Volunteering for Special Events (or any role in our school) is a great way to forge strong relationships within our community, create amazing experiences for our families and … of course to fulfill school volunteer hours!

Welcome to Scrip! A fundraiser for the SJPDS Parents’ Association. The idea is simple: you buy gift cards at their face value, and the SJPDS Parents’ Association receives a percentage of the dollar value of your purchase for the benefit of the school and your children.
For information on ordering, read more

As a year-round fundraiser, you can raise funds for your school and your children even during the summer. Due to the efforts of our families (namely, Christrup, Hendon, Laster, Leonard, Morley, Schnebly, Schwartz, Sinon, St. Cyr, Vice, and Zamborsky), the
SJPDS PA raised over $250 through Scrip this summer. Come join the fun!

Did you know you could buy Scrip gift cards for your oil change?
If you order a Scrip e-card for Jiffy Lube, the SJPDS PA receives 8% of the face value. Just another way that your everyday purchases can help support the school and your children.
