CHILDREN'S BOOKS NEEDED
Saturday August 4, 2018 is the date for the Back to School Back Pack Event and again I am asking for help with children's books. Each year we give away at least 500 backpacks, free haircuts and lots of other goodies and BOOKS. Books range from kindergarten to 8
grade and each student chooses a book to take from the book corner before they exit. Please leave books at the rear of the church and I will collect them. Monetary contributions can be placed in an Offering envelope, please indicate on the envelope the offering is for ‘Books for 8/4’. Your help will be truly appreciated! Thank you, Edwina Dunworth 772-600-5961. It isn't too early to start!
SOCKS FOR BTS
In addition to giving away the filled back packs at our Back to School Event this year on August 4th, we are also giving away new socks. There will be a basket in the church and one in the parish hall to receive donations. Boys, girls, large, medium, small, white or colors, full or anklet socks; any will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Carol Adams
BACK TO SCHOOL EVENT COMING SOON AUGUST 4
For the last 13 years St. Luke’s has been giving away backpacks filled with supplies to the children in our area. This year we hope to give away 700!!! Free haircuts, a book, socks, dental supplies, baked goods, face painting and Thrift Store bargains are all a part of the day. How can you help??? Here are some ideas:
1. Volunteer either Friday or Saturday, sign-up in the Parish Hall
2. Sponsor-A-Child. For $20 you can assure a child a day of delight (Bus in the PH)
3. Bake or buy cookies, wrap 2 to a baggie, bring on Friday or Saturday of the event.
Please no nuts. Chocolate Chip or Sugar are the favorites.
4. Get the word out — Place posters in your community or post online on your favorite site.
5. Can’t be here, make a donation of any amount and send a check to the office made out to St Luke’s with Back To School in the note area.
6. Come to the festivities on August 4, 7:30- noon and be a greeter with a smile. I guarantee you won’t be sorry.

Summer is here! School is out. Vacations have started and that species of bird, the “snowbird” has migrated north. What hasn’t gone on vacation are the ministries and operational needs of St. Luke’s. We ask that you please remember to maintain your financial support during the summer months and maybe find it in your hearts to add a little additional support to help. Thank you for your prayerful consideration. - Stewardship Committee
