It is a wonderful time for fellowship with each other, where we plan fun events to help our beloved St. Luke's. Refreshments are served and we would love to hear some of the great ideas that we know are out there among you. Look forward to seeing you!

The clock is ticking down to find out which two teams will battle it out for the Super Bowl. Meanwhile I have had an amazing response from people willing to bring their homemade soup to the Parish Hall on February 4th, in hopes of winning our trophy.
So far there are twenty different varieties of soups coming in. You name it, we have it. So please root for your football team and also root for your favorite soup! Please contact me if you have not already signed up to make a soup .Thank you so much for your support, Kate Hall.
Lenten program 2018
MAKING SPACE (FOR GOD)
Lent can be seen as letting go . . . of the unimportant to find our souls. SO think about the exercise of decluttering for Everybody: Kids, Families, Solos
4 Books/Audiobooks to choose from
4 Dinners 5:30 Wednesdays 2/21,2/28, 3/7, 3/14
Premise: Some (!) of us have too much clutter-papers, books, clothes, sports equipment- need I list any more? The process of decluttering frees our spirits, our space, our time, our activities.
Process: If you are interested, go to nextavenue.org/decluttering-experimentpart-1/ This is a four part article with insight, humor, and great advice. The author, Heidi Raschke, suggests 4 books (pick one, some, none- you can do this without a book and only the article but . .):
* The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering
by Marie Kondo Approach: start with “tops” – shirts and tops and rate the joy
* Unstuffed: Decluttering Your Home, Mind and Soul
by Ruth Soukup Approach: family oriented
* The More of Less: Finding the Life You Want Under Everything Your Own
by Joshua Becker Approach: Minimalist: living with the minimum stuff (decreases maintenance) and gives time for what is important things like family and adventure and allows generosity to surface
* The Joy of Less
by Francine Jay Approach: making a home/space is more valuable than stuff How: sorting room by room)
But help!!! YOU KNOW places to take our clutter. Please email me with your best spots.
No sign-up necessary. Bring a dish and an item (real or virtual) that tells a story of your previous week’s decluttering adventure.
The Labyrinth walk is a metaphor for the journey to your deepest self and back out into the world with a broadened understanding of who you are. Labyrinths have long been used as meditation and prayer tools. They have one path into the circle and one path out. Walking the Labyrinth involves intuition, creativity and imagery. We are all on a path and the Labyrinth is a model of that path. St. Luke’s has its own Labyrinth that is available for walking twice a year. Come join our next walk on Saturday February 10, 10am to noon.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR!
for the Women of St. Luke’s 20th Annual Fashion Show on February 24, 2018, “Emeralds & Platinum”. The Women of St. Luke’s is once again asking for your help in filling the baskets for this event. Some suggestions for items or to make your own basket are: wine, tea, Italian, hair & beauty, barbeque, car care, fishing gear, movies, beach, children’s beach, garden items, Mexican. We have plenty of baskets that need filling. These baskets are loved by all and your creativity and generosity in providing these items is greatly appreciated. A basket will be provided in the back of the church and in the parish hall for your donations.
Please note tickets will be on sale starting this Sunday Feb 4. Thank You!
At the start of a new year, the St Luke's Counters are asking that when you contribute regularly, whether it be cash or check, to please use an official St. Luke's giving envelope. It will really help with the efficiency and accuracy of the counting and recording process. To order your set of envelopes, with your number on them, please call the church office.
