Ten very sick people came to Jesus to be healed. Of course, Jesus healed them and in their excitement, they all went home rejoicing. Out of 9, only one stopped, turned around, and went back to thank Jesus, and that one was the least likely to do so, because he was a foreigner. Sometimes we forget to be thankful. Stop in this very moment, wherever you are, whomever you're with, and consider how Jesus has healed you today. Maybe he healed you from an illness, or from a broken relationship, or from a painful loss, or maybe you're still waiting for that healing. Or maybe Jesus did that healing through someone you know. Have you stopped to thank them or to thank Jesus? When we are filled with gratitude, our outlook on life changes and our faith is strengthened. Who needs to hear your gratitude today?

October Men's Group Dinner
Gents!
Time for food, fun, and fellowship!
Tuesday, October 18 will be the date for celebrating the (hopefully) cooler weather.
We will meet at 6:30 at The Captain's Cove,
301 Commerce Street, Lagrange, and check out the steaks and seafood.
I ate there today and loved it, and talked with the regulars who were enthusiastic in their praise.
So I am looking forward to it.
We hope to see you there!
Please let me know if you will attend, so I can give an accurate count to the restaurant.
Chris

·
Is anyone willing to donate and handle the large inflatable slide? It is $300 including delivery and setup.
·
A "hay ride" would be nice, but we need someone to donate a trailer and ATV for this to be a possibility (and driver)...low cost and fun
·

FOCUS Thanksgiving Food Drive
We are getting ready for our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive and can use your help in many different areas.
Last year we helped 300 families and expect to help at least that many this year.
Monetary donations are always welcome since we can purchase food at Feeding the Valley for $0.19 a pound.
Items that we have not been able to purchase, but need, are canned tuna and soups.
We also need plastic bags (Kroger, Wal-Mart) doubled, and we need volunteers.
On Friday, Nov. 18 we will be preparing the bags so we'll need volunteers to man tables and fill bags.
On Saturday, Nov. 19 our clients will be picking up their food and we can use volunteers to help carry the groceries out to cars.
Thank you.
Your support makes it possible for us to help the needy of Harris County.

Steward of the Month
Sheri Cody
If you drop by the church on a Saturday, you may see Sheri Cody on a lawn mower cutting the grass or needle pointing a kneeler with the stitching group.
On Sundays you may meet her at the door as she greets people.
She is also Vestry Liaison for the Communications Team .
Sheri does a lot at St Nicholas in very faithful and quiet ways.
She is responsible for getting our Journey to Adulthood program going for the youth. This is something St Nicholas has hoped to accomplish for a while.
Sheri initiated the "Blessings to Go" program which honors groups in the community and gets us involved with them.
For these things and more, the Vestry has named
Sheri Cody
Steward of the Month.

Religion is not a method, it is a life, a higher and supernatural life, mystical in its root and practical in its fruits; a communion with God, a calm and deep enthusiasm, a love which radiates, a force which acts, a happiness which overflows.

You may search for "Instant Church Directory" in the Apple App Store, Google Play, or Amazon Appstore, or use this link:
After installation, open the Instant Church Directory icon (it looks like a church). It will ask for your email address. If your email address is in our church directory, the program will generate a password for you and email it to you.
This worked great for most, but if you have any problems make sure you first check to see that your email address is in the church directory.
