From Fr. Jeff:
This past Monday was Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Once again, for the 9th year in a row, I marched in the Hamilton MLK Day Parade with St. Nicholas members and several other churches. Before the parade, we had a big tailgating meal under a tent where we welcomed all people to join us. We had conversations and got to know each other better. Then we marched together in the small parade, singing songs and waving to the onlookers. It was the kind of moment I think Dr. King dreamed about. Despite the vast diversity represented there today, we were one. That dream was not just Dr. King's, it is God's continuing dream for us. We call that the Kingdom of God, which we are all called to seek. I pray that today and every day to come, you and I will do all we can to seek that Kingdom in our homes, our workplaces, our schools, and our community.

Dear St. Nicholas Church Family,
Thank you for the beautiful Blankets. They are very much appreciated and cherished. Matthew's blanket brought him great comfort as it reminded him that so many people were praying for him.
Matt fought a courageous fight. Please know that your love and prayers gave him strength & peace as he prepared to go home to our Lord.
Our hearts are broken but we rejoice in knowing through our Lord's grace we will one day all be together again.
Love to All,
Marc, Denise & Jessica Cochran
*Matt was the nephew of Melissa Hammonds

Steward of the Month
Beth Brown
Beth is a Vice President of Synovus Trust Company in Columbus. She and her husband, Kin, a member of the Vestry, have been loyal and faithful members of St. Nicholas for many years.
Beth successfully chaired the 2017 St. Nicholas Stewardship effort. Stewardship continues to be one of the most important missions in our church with the goal of creating a balanced budget each year.
Beth brought many new and imaginative ideas to the 2017 program including the creation of a setting to allow our congregation to better connect with one another. Beth suggested having small informal lunches, "cottage meetings" for eight to 12 church members.
The goal was to discuss ideas concerning church missions while creating an atmosphere allowing better connecting between fellow St. Nicholas members.
Beth's leadership during this whole process is greatly appreciated.

Religion is not a method, it is a life, a higher and supernatural life, mystical in its root and practical in its fruits; a communion with God, a calm and deep enthusiasm, a love which radiates, a force which acts, a happiness which overflows.

Mobile App Installation Instructions
Church members can view the St. Nicholas Church Directory from their iPhone, iPad, Android or Kindle Fire by downloading the free Instant Church Directory Members App.
You may search for "Instant Church Directory" in the Apple App Store, Google Play, or Amazon Appstore, or use this link:
After installation, open the Instant Church Directory icon (it looks like a church). It will ask for your email address. If your email address is in our church directory, the program will generate a password for you and email it to you.
This worked great for most, but if you have any problems make sure you first check to see that your email address is in the church directory.
