Adult Formation
Adult Formation will continue our Series of Sharing this Sunday, March 29th in the Adult Formation classroom. Bob Hamilton will lead the class in Home, Sweet Home. We have several homes on this earth. Many of us were born or adopted into a family that we call(ed) home. Many of us started a family through marriage or partnership that we call home. Some of us have been or are in a church home now. Then, there is our heavenly home. Notice that each home involves relationship! We will continue our Series of Sharing by telling our stories of Home, Sweet Home

Steward of the Month:
Linda Sawyer
St. Nicholas has Talent!
This wonderful, colorful, playful mural in our new nursery was painted by none other than our own Linda Sawyer!!!! Linda has been painting for three years, but had never done a mural before. Sue Halmrast asked Linda to paint a mural and assured her she could do it. Linda spent a month painting and says she loved every minute of it!!! Please stop by the nursery and take a look. This picture doesn't do it justice!!!
Thank you Linda!

Get to Know Your Parish Family
Mike and Linda Quick Sawyer Linda was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi but left at four years of age when her dad was stationed in France. She has one sister and one brother and many nieces and nephews. She started to school in France and graduated from high school in Frankfort Germany. She worked for the Prudential Insurance Company for 28 years in Delaware and Columbus. Linda and Mike are charter members of St. Nicholas. Linda volunteered as Nursery worker/Sunday School teacher, bookkeeper, lawn maintenance, Altar Guild, Flower Guild Chair, Worship Chair, Parish Life Chair and served on the vestry. Mike has volunteered as treasurer, warden (prior to our having a vestry), vestry member, grounds, greeter, usher, and choir. After retiring Mike and Linda traveled extensively for years, but the hassle of airplanes, hotels, and tour buses now make the woods of Harris County very attractive. She and Mike are happy to volunteer at St. Nicholas and the Humane Society of Harris County and enjoy their home in the woods. Mike Sawyer was born in Worth County, GA, the youngest of ten children. He was raised in Taylor and Seminole Counties, GA and graduated from Seminole County High School. He attended Columbus College (now Columbus State University) at night and received Bachelor of Science degree in Business. He served four years in the U. S. Air Force-last two years at SAC (Strategic Air Command) Headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska. He worked thirty-three years for CB&T/TSYS/Synovus organization, retiring as a Senior Vice President.

Outreach Volunteers Needed
The
outreach committee is seeking two volunteers. The idea is to make sure that our parish is aware of opportunities for Christian service to the community and to facilitate participation. Contact Lou Baker, if you can help.
1. St. Nicholas cooperates with FOCUS in Hamilton, CVEM in Columbus, Episcopal Relief, and similar initiatives. You can take responsibility for coordinating our participation with these good outreach organizations.
2. St. Nicholas has an ongoing relationship with Christian Valley Church in Cataula. Currently, we walk together in the MLK unity parade and worship together in the annual summertime Pulpit Swap. If you would like to shepherd this relationship and be alert to developing other interfaith/interchurch dialogues, this ministry is for you.

Please help Patty Hamilton get the church directory as up-to-date as possible. If you have not yet filled out a form, please pick one up in the cloister room and return to the church office. Or you can send your info via email to Patty Hamilton at [email protected].
- Please include:your names and the names of your minor children,
- address,
- email addresses,
- phone numbers (cell and home),
- birthdays and anniversaries.
If you need a new picture or a new name tag, indicate that as well. Feel free to use a favorite picture. Just send it in jpeg form to [email protected].
Mobile App Installation Instructions
Church members can view the St. Nicholas Church Directory from their iPhone, iPad, Android or Kindle Fire by downloading the free Instant Church Directory Members App.
You may search for "Instant Church Directory" in the Apple App Store, Google Play, or Amazon Appstore, or use this link:
After installation, open the Instant Church Directory icon (it looks like a church). It will ask for your email address. If your email address is in our church directory, the program will generate a password for you and email it to you.
This worked great for most, but if you have any problems make sure you first check to see that your email address is in the church directory.
