Enjoy the convenience of electronic giving!
St. Nicholas Episcopal Church is pleased to announce that we now offer electronic giving as a way to automate your regular weekly offerings. Electronic giving is safe and convenient for you and provides much-needed donation consistency for our congregation. When travel, illness or other circumstances prevent you from attending services, this program will allow your offerings to continue on an uninterrupted basis. To set up a recurring giving schedule you, visit us online at stnicholashamilton.org and locate the blue Online Giving button in the upper right-hand corner of the home page. Your information is held in strictest confidence and your check, debit or credit card information will be secure. Setting up your profile and your giving instructions can be completed in less than 10- 15 minutes. I think you will find it very easy to get started, but please contact me if you have any questions. Thank you for your generosity and support! Nick Simpson Financial Stewardship Vestry Liaison Cell: 706 594-2884 |
Pastoral Care The Pastoral Care Committee meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 20 at 10:00 at church. |
St. Nicholas Writes All Are Welcome!!! The May meeting of St. Nicholas Writes, our resident writers' group, will meet from: 9:45-10:45am in the Adult Formation classrooms on Sunday, May 24th. Those of you at our last meeting who had the opportunity to enjoy David Johnson, poet and English professor emeritus from CSU now have another chance to benefit from David's teaching and explore your own creativity. At the last meeting in April, David assigned a brief writing on one of these three topics: 1) write a paragraph about a biblical character you identify with (and why). 2) write a paragraph-long journal entry; 3) write a letter to someone from whom you are estranged or whom you haven't seen in a long time. If none of these appeal to you, or if you weren't present at the last meeting, just bring any piece of your writing. That's the only ticket you will need to enter this exciting, dynamic group get-together whose main purpose is to help you discover your God-given talents! For further information and questions, call or email Dianne Armstrong: 706-221-9020; [email protected]. |

Steward of the Month for May
Patty Hamilton
Please congratulate Patty Hamilton on her selection by the Vestry as our Steward of the Month. Patty is being specifically recognized for her untiring efforts toward bringing our accounting back into the church. She has worked many hours setting up both of our new accounting programs, ServantKeeper (our donor management program) and QuickBooks (our accounting software). She has entered all of the ending balances for 2014 and most of the postings year to date. She contributed to the hiring process of our new in-house accountant, Kristi Nelson and has successfully interfaced with our previous accountant to smoothly transition the accounting process. Patty has single-handedly set up ServantKeeper to ensure correct application of donor funds to their intended ministries.
In addition to these duties, she has been helping Theresa Dorminey establish a well-run office after the move from the old building to the new offices. Patty, as many others do and have done in the past, exemplifies the definition of a good Steward. She truly lives the time, talent and treasure commitment that so many of us at St. Nicholas strive for.
"Well done, good and faithful servant!"

Stewardship Thought of the Month
"In being stewards of the church, for, as we are told, the church of God is the household of God and it is
essential to practice the stewardship there.
The life of a Christian steward,
lived in the imitation of the
life of Christ,
is challenging, even difficult in many
ways; but both here and hereafter it is charged with
intense Joy."

Please help Patty Hamilton keep the church directory as up-to-date as possible. If you have not yet filled out a form, please pick one up in the cloister room and return to the church office. Or you can send your info via email to Patty Hamilton at [email protected].
- Please include:your names and the names of your minor children,
- address,
- email addresses,
- phone numbers (cell and home),
- birthdays and anniversaries.
If you need a new picture or a new name tag, indicate that as well. Feel free to use a favorite picture. Just send it in jpeg form to [email protected].
Mobile App Installation Instructions
Church members can view the St. Nicholas Church Directory from their iPhone, iPad, Android or Kindle Fire by downloading the free Instant Church Directory Members App.
You may search for "Instant Church Directory" in the Apple App Store, Google Play, or Amazon Appstore, or use this link:
After installation, open the Instant Church Directory icon (it looks like a church). It will ask for your email address. If your email address is in our church directory, the program will generate a password for you and email it to you.
This worked great for most, but if you have any problems make sure you first check to see that your email address is in the church directory.
