The Sermon Title: Open Our Eyes and Hearts
Rev. Harriet J. Bryan
The Old Testament Lesson: Ezekiel 34: 11-16, 20-24
The Gospel Lesson: Matthew 25: 31-46

Points to Ponder:
"One great reason why the rich, in general, have so little sympathy for the poor, is, because they so seldom visit them. Hence it is, that, according to the common observation, one part of the world does not know what the other suffers."
    ~John Wesley

"Today our poor of the world are looking up at you. Do you look back at them with compassion? Do you have compassion for the people who are hungry? They are hungry not only for bread and rice, they are hungry to be recognized as human beings. They are hungry for you to know that they have their dignity, that they want to be treated as you are treated. They are hungry for love."
    ~Mother Teresa

THIS WEEK'S ANNOUNCEMENTS
MADISON STREET SAFETY
The Trustees take the security of our members and facilities very seriously. In light of recent events, we have reviewed our current system and policies. We are implementing some procedural changes and will continue to assess other potential modifications to enhance our security.
COMMUNICATIONS
In an effort to improve the efficiency of our church communications, we are making some changes that will take effect in January. Instead of our current weekly News, Notes & Reminders insert, we will be publishing a monthly digital newsletter. There will be a limited number of printed copies available in the Narthex and at the Commerce Street entrance, but our hope is that most people will access it online. You will still receive the weekly Street Scene via email on Fridays, and any pertinent whole-church announcements will be printed on the back of the Sunday worship bulletin.
