In 2012, the Long Island Index released a report about the challenges of segregation in Long Island schools, noting that it is twice the national average (and three times the national average in Nassau County alone). This remains a critical issue in our region, as shown by a recent report from the Civil Rights Project at the University of California at Los Angeles.

We hope you will join us at this exciting symposium to discuss the crisis of segregation in our schools and learn more about successful strategies to create stronger and more racially diverse schools on Long Island and beyond.
