SUPERINTENDENT'S CHOICE AWARDS!
March 12, 2014

The Cabarrus County Education Foundation invites you to celebrate Youth Art Month with us!

The national, annual observance emphasizes the value of art education for all children and encourages the support of quality school art programs. Cabarrus County Schools is fortunate to have a strong visual arts program at the elementary, middle and high school levels.

Celebrating Artistic Achievement in Cabarrus County Public Schools!

Once again, the Cabarrus County Education Foundation (CCEF) will sponsor the Superintendent's Choice art awards in celebration of Youth Art Month. Each year, Superintendent Barry Shepherd selects three new art pieces to add to the superintendent's permanent art collection.

One winner from each respective group, elementary, middle and high school are given this honor and awarded a monetary gift of $100 at the Cabarrus County Board of Education meeting in April.

To commemorate the month-long observance, CCS is currently hosting a student art exhibit at the Education Center located at 4401 Old Airport Road in Concord. Student artwork is on display during normal business hours, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Additionally, a special reception and celebration will be held for student artists and their families who have pieces on display at the end of March.

Nicole Rosen, visual arts teacher and CCS lead art teacher at Royal Oaks Elementary School and Beverly Hills Elementary School, is serving as this year's Youth Art Month Coordinator.
