Aloha Market Friend!

This week I have been indulging in the bounty of spring fruits, fresh from the market! Lychee, Pineapple, Mango, Papaya... ooohhhhh! If there was anything left after my daily "stand-over-the-sink-grinning-from-ear-to-ear-while-the-juice-runs-down-my-elbows" ritual, I would make fresh fruit sorbet! Doesn't that sound delicious?
Tomato Fest!

Everyone loves this time of year when tomatoes come into their true sweetness. Hale'iwa Farmers' Market will be celebrating on June 12th with our Tomato Fest. With the help of a USDA Specialty Crop Grant, HFM and all of our tomato growers will highlight this tasty fruit with a Tomato Tasting Booth sponsored by North Shore Farm/Big Wave Tomatoes. There will be many varieties of tomatoes to buy, a recipe contest, Back-Yard Home-Grown Taste-Off, celebrity chefs, tomato food creations from all our food vendors, tours to North Shore Farms to see heirloom tomatoes at their finest, and Pamela may even dress up as a stuffed tomato! Mark your calendars for June 12 and water your backyard tomatoes with some lovin', so you can enter the Taste-Off!
