I went back to school this week! Cartoogechaye Elementary invited me back to help kindergartners make Tooth Fairy pillows. Each child picked out his or her fabrics. I guided the fabric through the machine while my "assistants" pushed the pedal. I set my speed pretty slow. They did an awesome job and I had so much fun! Here are some of the funny things my little "assistants" told me:
- This is for adults. Children could get hurt.
- Why is that other machine going faster than yours?
- Wow! How do you do that?
- Don't let your finger get sewed!
- Look how fast that needle goes up and down!
- My Nannie already made me one of these.
I enjoyed visiting "Just Stitchin'" in Hayesville on Saturday. Rosie and her gals had me over to teach a class about the Strippy Star tool. We had a great time and it's always fun to make new quilty friends. If you are ever in that neck of the woods, go see Rosie and check out her awesome shop!
THANKS, TERESA!!!!! Teresa has worked her magic again! Look at these cute windows. The window pictures always have a glare and don't do the decorations justice. Be sure to check them out when you come by the shop. Teresa joked that as soon as she took down "Let it snow, Let us sew" we got this beautiful March snow! Snow pictures are compliments of my friend Joey Gibson. Beautiful!!!!!
Remember we are providing opportunities for you to come work on your club projects during the "Sit & Sew" times this year or if
you're not in a club, just come sew! We are changing this a little bit after some customer feedback. Regardless of whether you want to do some handwork or sew on your machine, come on either of the two "Sit & Sew" days provided each month and SEW!!! These days have been set aside for you to use our classroom and the supplies while you fellowship with others and work towards completing projects.
BUT . . . YOU MUST RESERVE A SPOT.
We are limiting the number of people to 10 on each of the sewing days so if you are interested you need to call and reserve your spot. It's totally free! But we only have room for so many so
let us know you're coming
and we will let you know if there is still room. You can get into the classroom at 9:45 and sew until 4:00! WOW!
Staff can answer questions and help you briefly but they will be working on the floor taking care of other business. This is not class time so please be respectful of our staff members. You can order lunch or bring your own. Come sew with us!
Did I mention it's
FREE
?!?!?
Sassy Stitches
will be happy to help you select fabrics and gather the Creative Grids tools you need to get ready for workshops or classes. We also have special sales for attendees at local quilting events.
Remember that we carry Creative Grids rulers and tools so call or come by the shop to get all of your supplies! We will be glad to ship them to you if you don't live close by.
This is my little yorkie, Bella. Isn't she cute?
She's saying until next Sunday, have a wonderful week and come see us!
