We are a little over one week into the current
Mercury Retrograde in Gemini which began on May 18th and goes until June 11th. This 25 Day Retrograde has been intense for many folks! It will be very interesting to see what t
he 'Integration Phase' which lasts from June 11th - June 26th will bring!
One of the common frustrations we can experience during a Mercury Retrograde is the activation of the Trickster Archetype. This is in fact the source of a lot the superstition that surrounds Mercury Retrogrades. You know, computer viruses, hard drives crashing, cell phone glitches, electrical appliances breaking down, accidents, missed appts, etc.
What most folks don't realize is that this phenomenon is only relative to a Mercury Retrograde in that it's the Universe via the Archetype of Mercury/Trickster trying to get you to slow down and realign to a more conscious connection with your Soul Contract. Period.
So when we flail about cursing these frustrating events (which can also be break-ups, illness, food poisoning, and more!) and just say 'It's Mercury Retrograde...can't wait until it's over' - we are missing the entire opportunity of what the Trickster side of Mercury offers us: A chance to be 'tricked' into a new Truth that our life desperately needs. We're also approaching this Astrological Cycle as a victim instead of co-creator. To be sure, I'm prone to my own Mercury Retro pity party just like everyone else, yet Soul Contract Astrology is in fact the Astrology of the Co-creator, you feel me?!
Through the eyes of Soul Contract Astrology, every Mercury Retrograde is about midwifing something of the Soul into your Ego's awareness, which is always done via the Archetype of the Zodiac Sign (or Signs) that Mercury is Retrograde in (this time Gemini). One of the reasons I've been doing these MR audio series the past few years is to offer my intuitive insights and accurate tracking of these cycles such that taking these Audio Series helps you AVOID the Trickster and meet what's trying to happen in your psyche consciously.
The themes and insights of my Audio Series address this deeply. That said, someone recently posted on my Facebook Public Page that she wasn't affected by this Retrograde because she's not a Gemini...that statement is a total set up for an encounter with the Trickster - full on! Here's why...
When we think a Mercury Retrograde doesn't apply to us because we are not a Gemini Sun Sign (or whatever the Sign Mercury is Retrograding in) we fail to understand that we are in fact are our ENTIRE BIRTH CHART so to speak.
You do have Gemini somewhere in your birth chart and quite possibly other Planets/Archetypes in Gemini, thus the question isn't: 'Am I affected by a Mercury Retrograde in Gemini?'; rather 'HOW am I affected?' The Archetypal Architecture that the birth chart maps is the wiring of your entire psyche and Soul Contract. I'm not a Sun in Gemini yet I have a major Planet in Gemini and Gemini exists as developmental content in one of the houses of my birth chart. Just like it does in your birth chart. Any other myopic approach to your Soul Contract as symbolized by your birth chart is a set up for a lesson from the Trickster and will block intuitive clarity regarding your archetypal process of Destiny.
The Trickster and Intuition
After over 10,000 readings the past 15 years I've come to realize just how much The Trickster is involved in your own intuitive process. In fact the Trickster is a major symptom of blocked intuition.
Most clients come to me in part because they can't get a clear 'read' on their life as often occurs when we are in a Destiny shift, moving from one story to another. Whenever we go through this kind of change we often need someone with a skill set like mine to guide that shift. Left on our own we likely just reference the old self that is dying and what we know for guidance. Problem is then we can't access anything NEW as our intuitive sense becomes fearfully chained to the old self/story via our triggered survival fear and shame during such times.
