The St. Angela statue got some TLC yesterday from sculptor and art teacher, Ms. Annette Zobel.  After using steel wool to remove impurities from the surface, Ms. Zobel then applied a layer of carnauba wax to protect the statue from oxidation throughout the next year.

Greetings!

All UA families and guests are invited to the concert on front campus on Friday, June 1, 6-8pm.  Enjoy the sounds of "Buck Staghorn" who will perform music from the 1960s through today.  Bring a blanket, chairs, snacks, drinks and hang out together for an evening at UA.  If you're celebrating your class reunion that weekend, this is a great way to kick off the festivities!   A $5 offering is appreciated.

As a coxswain in the Varsity Boys 8 of the St. Louis Rowing Club, Jessie Bava '12 earned a bronze medal and qualified for Nationals during the Midwest Regionals Championship held over graduation weekend.  She actually missed the graduation ceremony to participate, but this is the first time the Varsity Boys 8 has qualified for national competition!

Natalie Fisher '08 was an honorable mention choice for the All-North Coast Athletic Conference women's lacrosse teams.  A student at Ohio Wesleyan University, she was also an All-NCAC first-team selection in 2011, second-team in 2010 and honorable mention in 2009.

Leadership Academy Preparations

On May 12, seventh- and eighth-grade students who attended the 2011 Leadership Academy joined Ursuline students for a training day in preparation for the two-day event in June.  These returning students, deemed Junior Leaders, are excited to return to UA in this capacity to share their skills and knowledge with new attendees.  Above:  Last year's attendees participate in an ice-breaking trust exercise.
Remembering UA

It's not too late to make a donation to the Parent or Alumnae Annual Giving Campaigns!  Over 200 parents, past parents and grandparents have contributed to the campaign this year...but does that include YOU?  Tax-deductible gifts by parents and grandparents directly benefit every student, keeping UA operating and oustanding!

Nearly 800 alumnae have already made a gift this year as well, providing tuition assistance to approximately 25% of our student body.

Make a gift in honor of a recent graduate, former teacher, class reunion or yourself today!  All gifts made by June 30 will be acknowledged in the 2011-2012 Annual Report.
