Thankful for our Teachers and Staff
In this season of gratitude, we also offe r than ks to  our wonderful school faculty and staff.  This morning, a fabulous staff appreciation breakfast "magically appeared" in the library.

Art in November
Our students participated in the Artists & Merchants Walk in Marietta early this month.  The theme of the event was art, and many of our students submitted their works for display at Top Drawer Furniture and Design. Thank you to Mrs. Hamrick for organizing our participation!

Ath letes in Action
We have a number of students who continue to impress both in and out of the classroom. Special mention this month goes to several swimmers in our midst:

Shawn Powers
Morgan McKay
Lauren Strobl
Ava Powers

These students spend many hours in the water each week to improve their skills and stay fit.  We congratulate them on their efforts, on how well they represent our school, and on their commitment to excellence in everything they do.
Thankful for our First Responders
Last Friday, a group of students led by Mrs. McElroy and Mr. Rutherford planted a small flower bed to beautify the fire station on Harmar Hill.  We are grateful to our local firefighters for spending time at our school and taking care of our neighborhood.

We are Thankful for Much
The month of November has granted us so many things for which we are thankful.  This edition of the Veritas Victor highlights many of those blessings although it fails to capture the entirety of our sentiments. Without fail, we must thank our teachers, staff, and parents for continuing to help us cultivate this school family. In this special season of thanksgiving, may God continue to bless our homes, our school, and our families.

Thankful for our Community
"The falling leaves drift by my window.
The falling leaves of red and gold."

And so they did, and as they did our students headed out of doors to rake leaves for our school neighbors.  Each year, Veritas students gather up the leaves from our neighbors' homes as a small thank you for allowing us to be part of their community and to give back to them a small measure of our gratitude.

Thankful for our Veterans
Once again, our school celebrated Veterans Day on November 11th with our annual "Bring a Veteran to Lunch."  Veterans Day is not a "free day" from school at Veritas.  Instead, we use the opportunity to teach students the significance of the holiday and to invite local veterans to join us for a flag raising ceremony and luncheon.  Thank you to all who have served our great nation.

Thankful for our Flag

Earlier this month, our students were treated to a special presentation by the Marine Corps Leagu whose members taught us how to properly fold the  Stars and Stripes.  Thank you to House Washington for hosting this program.

The School Plow?
As the weather turns blustery and December ushers in the start of winter, a few snowflakes may make their grand appearance. When they do, and enough of them congregate upon the roads, you may catch a glimpse of a city snow plow decorated with none other than our school name!  Our preK/K students were invited to decorate a snow plow however they wished and dedicate it to a hero. Mrs. Gale's class chose as its hero, our veterans.

Thank you for your interest in our school. Please contact us if you have any questions or would like to schedule a private meeting.

Sincerely,

Ben Rutherford
