Director's Message

Spring is finally here. . . I think.  Despite the mild winter, the cold doesn’t seem to want to let go and the frosty nights make me hesitate to take any risks with the more tender plants.  But with the longer days and stronger sun, Kendra and I are looking ahead to summer and the 2016 Local Food Guide – bigger and better than ever.  We are in the thick of preparations right now and are excited about our improvements.  Most importantly, SEMAP members will be featured in the Local Food Guide, as always, and recognized for their membership support, but we will also be including a comprehensive listing of many farms across Bristol, Plymouth, and Norfolk counties, as well as other useful local food resources – farmers markets, educational farms, restaurants and caterers, grocers, seafood, and more!  We’ll make sure our members stand out from the crowd (they already do in our minds) but we think the expanded listings will make the Guide more valuable to the general public.

Membership is an important way you can show your support for SEMAP and help us sustain local agriculture by providing resources, education and assistance to farmers and foodies alike .  To be highlighted as a SEMAP member, please consider joining or renewing now. If you are not certain of your membership status, you can see our current listing here.

There is still an opportunity to advertise in the Local Food Guide.  With a distribution of 10,000 copies across Southeastern Massachusetts, your ad will reach an audience focused on local food, healthy eating, and sustainable living.  The Local Food Guide is available throughout the entire year. We appreciate your support!
