Stopping to Say Thank you

As you all know, the board and I are focused on finding a future home for the school and the teachers and leaders are working hard to put together an internal training institute that will help train all future generations of teachers.  On both fronts, we are making great progress that I am excited to update you about in the coming months.

But, as I look ahead, with great anticipation, the Spirit whispers to me  "remember to be here."  "Remember what I have already done and be thankful."  In the hustle and bustle of my day, I want to pause.  I want to remember.  Remember to hear his voice and read His word.  Remember to listen to my daughters before I shuffle them off to bed.  Remember to smile.  Remember to faithfully serve our school families now.  Remember to encourage and express gratitude, not merely critique and work toward results.

Remember the reminders from our theme verse:  Fret not because of evildoers, Trust in the Lord, Dwell in the Land, Befriend faithfulness, Commit your way to the Lord, Trust in Him.  And it ends with ...and He will act.  Those three words speak of His sovereignty, His active involvement in our lives, His responsibilities, His role. The previous verses speak of my role.

Thus I am reminded to express gratitude.

I am thankful to our Heavenly Father for this school family.  We are many and we are diverse but we are unified under the name of Jesus, our Lord!!

I am thankful to God for our teachers, their hearts, their tireless dedication to and love for our students.  I am so glad God has brought us such incredible people to be living epistles for our students.

I am thankful for our leadership team and our board.  May we continue to walk in wisdom, love, clarity, grace, and understanding as we move this school forward into the next phases of growth that He has planned for us.

I am thankful for all of our parents, who give us their sacred trust as we work to truly partner with all of you in the education and discipleship of your children.

I am thankful for the students and the joy it is to be with children and teens all day long.  What a purposeful and glorious experience it is to be surrounded by all these students!

I am thankful that God has given us this ministry to be in young people's lives, to love them, challenge them, teach them, guide them, and enjoy them.

I am especially thankful to the more than a dozen men and women who serve in the quiet corners, the ones who keep the children safe, pass out cough drops, clean the bathrooms, grade papers, write newsletters, make bank deposits, keep track of transcripts, and the many other unseen jobs that make the day a success.

We have so much to be thankful for.  Thank you all for being a part of this great place that God continues to build.  Join us in giving praise and thanksgiving to God for His good gifts.  For He is a good, good Father!

Kyle Maestri

Praising Father...
...for the conclusion of our 2017 WILD About Reading Read-A-Thon event! We feel incredibly blessed by the donations made to our school and the quality time that students put forth in order to rack-up those minutes! We are also thankful for WILDMAN PHIL and the awesome show that he put together for our students at our WILD Celebration Events!
"Fret not yourselves because of evildoers; be not envious of wrongdoers! For they will soon fade like the grass and wither like the green herb.  Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.  Delight yourself in the Lord; and he will give you the desires of your heart.  Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act."  Psalm 37:1-5 (ESV)
