Women's Journey to Joy

Advent Campaign 2016
Shepherds on the Search
The objective of our annual Advent Campaign is to
prepare our hearts and homes to celebrate the birth of Christ throughout
Advent.
Throughout the week, students will gather the specified items and bring them to their class. For every item donated, a staff will be hung on a wool line in their classroom. The goal for the class is to hang every staff (essentially two items per student/week) each and every week. If a goal is exceeded for a week, congratulations are in order! The count on the line restarts each week.
If a class meets their shepherd staff goal for the week, they will be able to participate in a dress-up day on the Tuesday, following the weekend. Homeroom teachers will keep you updated with regards to dress-up days and details.

Advent and Christmas Concerts 2016
This year, the Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten classes are hosting their own special Advent concert! In lieu of the larger Christmas Concert, they will be performing on Thursday, December 1st at 9:15 a.m. in Athlone Hall. A pre-concert coffee will be available in Keller Hall until the doors of Athlone Hall open at 9:00 a.m.
The Christmas Concert this year will include Grades 1 - 6. It will be held on Wednesday, December 14th at 1:00 p.m. in Bethany Chapel on Richardson Way. The students are looking forward to performing for you!

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Our Kindergarten to Grade 6
Christmas Store will open for business on December 6th and run until December 8th in the Athlone Hall Auditorium. The
Christmas Store provides a safe and affordable shopping experience for our younger students to shop for their friends and family "secretly." It is a great CWA tradition and lots of fun for the kids.
In order for this event to be successful, we need your help! We are looking for volunteers (teams or individuals) to help out with the Store. Volunteer roles include: set-up, take-down, greeting and assisting shoppers, and more! To sign-up to volunteer, please click HERE.

A huge THANK YOU to our Clear Water Academy students, families, and staff, as well as many generous donors within the community of Calgary for your support of
Mary's Meals
! We presented Mary's Meals Canada with the donations collected from our event in late September which totaled $7,047.20! It is amazing that our efforts will feed 479 children for an entire year in Malawi!
We hope to make this an annual event, including a visit with Magnus from Scotland. Together with the funds raised in May 2016 of $2,784.69, we have almost reached our school's goal of sponsoring a school in Malawi! We are blessed to have this connection of our students helping to feed other students in our world!
Please consider spreading the good works of Mary's Meals by purchasing your Christmas cards at the front office of Bessborough Hall. Or, email [email protected] to place your order. A pack of 10 costs $15, with part of all sales donated to Mary's Meals.

Deadline to Order is Tonight, Friday, November 25th!
Once again, our popular Christmas Fundraiser through Purdy's Chocolates is being offered! These beautiful, and delicious, chocolates make great Christmas gifts. Funds raised will go towards purchasing additional Chromebooks for our students.

Our Lost & Found Bin is overflowing with items, particularly uniform items! Please make sure to swing by Bessborough Hall and have a look... you may be surprised to find your child(ren)'s items in the bin!
See Mrs. Moya at reception and she will bring you to the Lost & Found area.
All items that remain before the Christmas break will either be donated to charity or to our Used Uniform Store.
