WE NEED YOU!
The Foster Roster at the Humane Society of Greater Dayton provides loving care and temporary housing for animals not yet ready to enter into the adoption program. Fostering provides an invaluable service and helps save lives! We need you to help us provide a little time, compassion and maybe even a piece of your heart to these small babies until they are ready to find their forever homes! Can you help?
Who Needs Fostering?
  • Young puppies and kittens under two months of age
  • Mothers and their young
  • Motherless animals requiring bottle-feeding
  • Animals with injuries and/or medical conditions
  • Quarantine for young animals
  • Special needs
  • Rabbits needing socialization
How Long Do I Foster?
  • Most foster animals are in the home from two weeks to two months
  • We are flexible to suit your lifestyle and fit your needs
  • Foster once, foster continuously, foster once every season - it is up to you how frequently you choose to foster!
What Do We Provide?
  • 24/7 emergency helpline to put you in direct contact with the Humane Society of Greater Dayton's Foster Coordinator
  • Medical Care (medication, vaccines, spay/neuter surgery)
  • Food, toys, crates, bedding, etc.
  • Our appreciation - we CAN'T do this without you!

BISSELL Pet Foundation Invests in Local Pets
The Humane Society of Greater Dayton has be awarded a $9,000 grant from BISSELL Pet Foundation to support its efforts to impact the lives of animals in need within our community. This includes veterinary care for dogs and cats including vaccines, heartworm testing, FeLV/FIV testing, de-worming and flea-tick prevention.

We are so grateful for their support! It is thanks to partners like the BISSELL Pet Foundation that we are able to make a huge impact on the homeless animals in our community!
