Elemental Longing

The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever.
Jacques Yves Cousteau

After a long drive from California I have landed by the sea on the shore of Gibson's Landing on the Sunshine Coast in BC. I've effortlessly flowed into this place of exquisite beauty, to the costal lands of the native Shishalh Indians. A warm, cozy home found me here before I even arrived. It looks out peacefully over the Strait of Georgia to Vancouver Island; such loveliness to once again be soothed by the rhythmic music of the waves caressing this visually stunning coastline. As I have steeped my self in the world of nature here, I am urged to write this month about the elements and our deep inner longing to belong and find communion with the Spirit that lives in all things.

Water is life. Where there is no water, there is no life.
Every life form on this planet must have water to survive.
Sandra Ingerman

Dear Friends,
I am very excited about the upcoming free empowerment session I will be doing for the Shift Network. If you love ancient shamanic practices and value the power of modern-day personal development tools, in this call we will be talking about how to combine them and realize the kind of integrated growth that comes when soul and body travel together?
If you are curious about the seemingly distinct worlds of coaching practices and shamanism, I invite you to join me on Saturday, November 14, at 10:00am Pacific, as I present: The Power of Embodied Shamanic Coaching: Essential Practices for Integrating Ancient Wisdom into Your Life.
You can reserve your free spot here:
During this special free teleseminar, you'll learn how you can:
  • Harness the power of the heart more consistently in your daily life
  • Shift the story of your life with the Shamanic Narrative Process
  • Free yourself of complaints and focus your consciousness on what you want to create
  • Learn about embodied shamanism and how to get more from your shamanic journeys
  • "De-construct" your old self through the power of presence
  • And more...
Through the practice of embodied shamanism, you can enter into parallel worlds of consciousness and receive accurate guidance on any life situations you face.
When you then combine these insights with the grounded goal-setting and transformational empowerment practices utilized by top life coaches, you can get your life aligned with your soul's purpose.

Organizational Shamanism
I am currently writing a book that integrates my shamanic practices  with three decades of Organizational Development work. Organizational Shamanism (OS) is the practice and application of ancient shamanic techniques to solve contemporary organizational and community challenges. It is a whole systems approach to gathering information that can help us to revitalize and energize the spirit of our organizations and tap into new levels of creativity, intuition and wisdom not available with contemporary perception. OS focuses on transforming inner states of consciousness to bring about outer change, and taps into a creative potential beyond limiting beliefs and assumptions.
I am looking for organizations that are interested in trying these new approaches to solving organizational issues. If you and your organization or any one you know are open to applying this pioneering work in your company to bring about organizational change please give me a call. Or email 530.277.0937 or

Four Elements: Reflections on Nature

It's been almost 8 years since our dear friend and inspiring teacher passed away in Paris.
But, his teaching and inspiration lives on in this beautiful collection of essays published by his brother Pat.
This book is a wonderful addition to Anam Cara (soul friend) his classic work on Celtic spirituality.
Here he reveals how the energy and rhythms of the natural works - its innocence and creativity, its power
and splendor - hold profound lessons for us all. His words touch the heart and meet the soul's longing...

P oetry Corner

by Martha Postlewaite

Do not try to save

the whole world

or do anything grandiose.

Instead, create a clearing

in the dense forest of your life

and wait there

until the song

that is your life

falls into your own cupped hands

and you recognize and greet it.

Only then will you know

how to give yourself

to this world

so worthy of rescue.

Earth Prayer

Christlight, Yaweh, Allah, Mawu,
Mother of the Universe...
Let us, when swimming with the stream,
become the stream...
Let us, when moving with the music,
become the music...
Let us, when rocking the wounded,
become the suffering...
Let us live deep enough
till there is only one direction...
and slow enough till there is only
the beginning of time...
and loud enough in our hearts
till there is no need to speak...
Let us live for the grace beneath all we want,
let us see it in everything and everyone,
till we admit to the mystery
that when I look deep enough into you,
I find me, and when you dare to hear my fear
in the recess of your heart, you recognize it
as your secret which you thought
no one else knew...
O let us embrace
that unexpected moment of unity
as the atom of God...
Let us have the courage
to hold each other when we break
and worship what unfolds...
O nameless spirit that is not done with us,
let us love without a net
beyond the fear of death
until the speck of peace
we guard so well
becomes the world...
