See what's happening at White Lick Elementary
April 7, 2017
From the Desk of Mrs. Wise:
We had a great first week back from Spring Break! Students were focused and ready to get back to work! Our kindergarten students today had an opportunity to experience "Truck Day".  They had a chance to check out a school bus, semi-truck, fire truck, tow truck, police car, post office vehicle, etc. As you can see in the picture, they were all excited and engaged! We would like to thank all of our parent and community volunteers who assisted with this special event.
Today I received a thank you letter from a veteran who recently returned from the Honor Flight to Washington D.C. Our students assisted with writing appreciation letters to the veterans. In his letter, he wrote "I am writing to thank you and your students whose letters to us meant so very much. To think that young people today recognize our service is most pleasing and gratifying. Thank you and your students from the depths of our hearts." I appreciate that not only do we provide students with a strong academic program, we also teach them so much more about service and respect for others. I thought it was important to share that with all of you as well.
Thank you for your continued support and encouragement.
Have a great weekend and enjoy the nice weather!
Mrs. Susan Wise
Principal

SEEKING PARENTS AND GUARDIANS FOR REDISTRICTING COMMITTEE

Lincoln Elementary, currently under construction, will be opening for the start of the 2018 - 2019 school year.  Due to the addition of another elementary school, it will be necessary to develop a redistricting plan during the 2017 - 2018 school year.  Redistricting has the potential to impact students who will be in grades K-8 during the 2018-2019 school year.  Parent volunteers and educators will make up the committee that will develop a recommendation for the School Board.  The School Board will vote on that recommendation at the School Board meeting in January 2018.  The first meeting of the Redistricting Committee will take place August 15, 2017 at 6:30pm at the F.L. O'Neal Administration Building located at 310 Stadium Drive and will last approximately 90 minutes.  The Redistricting Committee will meet 5 additional times and we ask that the members of the committee only commit if they are willing to attend all meetings.  If you are interested in being a part of the Redistricting Committee, CLICK HERE to provide the necessary information.
