See what's happening at White Lick Elementary
March 3, 2017
From the Desk of Mrs. Wise:

Happy Friday! Our kindergarten classes enjoyed Dr. Seuss Day today! They all arrived to learn that Thing 1 and Thing 2 had made a surprise visit last night and made a mess of their classrooms! Seeing the students' reactions was priceless! They continued throughout the day doing a variety of stations keying on many of the Dr. Seuss books. I also had a chance to read a favorite Dr. Seuss book to all of them.
We wrapped up the first part of ISTEP this week. Students worked very hard and we are very proud of them. If your child was absent, Mrs. Larkey will work with the classroom teacher to get the tests made up within our testing window.
The next two weeks are going to be busy! Next week we have our PTO meeting on Tuesday followed by our spring skating party at Hot Skates on Wednesday. Our third grade students will be taking the IREAD assessment March 13 -15 and getting ready for their Animal Fair. Our fifth grade jugglers are preparing for their performance on March 15th at the Pacers Game while our 1st and 2nd grade students are working hard to get ready for their musical performances on Thursday, March 16th!
Thanks for your continued support of our school events and programs. Have a great weekend!
Mrs. Susan Wise

Kroger Plus Card - Calling all Kroger shoppers! Did you know if you spend 3 minutes online you can help the PTO raise money just by doing your normal shopping at Kroger? Grab your Kroger Plus Card, visit kroger.com/account/enrollCommunityRewardsNow and create an account or update your current account to connect to WLE PTO under Community Rewards!. After you will get an email confirmation from Kroger - forward that email to Lauren Helms ( laurenh81107@gmail.com) along with your child(s) name and teacher(s) name so we can provide them with a special prize on March 17th. Plus, if we have 50 new connections to WLE PTO, we will have an all school PJ day on March 16th. This is the easiest way you can support WLE PTO so we can give back to help provide funds for your students' field trips, classroom supplies and more!

Box tops for Education - Thank you to all students, families, and staff for participating in the Spring Box Tops contest!  Together we collected 7,819 Box Tops which will earn $781.90 for White Lick.  Great job everyone!!!  The PTO would like to congratulate the following classrooms for collecting the most Box Tops in their grade level: Kindergarten, Mrs. Shelley;  First Grade, Mrs. Velikan; Second Grade, Mrs. Huggler; Third Grade, Mrs. Garrard;  Fourth Grade, Mrs. Hilderbrand and Fifth Grade, Mrs. Horn. The mystery reward for these classrooms is a Choose Your Own Spirit Day and special pencils and erasers for the classroom!  We are excited to see what fun ways these classrooms choose to celebrate their victories!  Please keep clipping those Box Tops and start saving up for our Fall Contest next year!

DINE TO DONATE - White Lick PTO is taking over your Wednesday's! We are truly lucky to have a great partnership with Marco's! Save the date for March 8th, April 12th and May 10th. Get ready for Spring Break fun at Chuck E Cheese on March 22nd and Monster Mini Golf on March 29th. For more information contact Elizabeth Spice ( espice0308@yahoo.com).

Coke Reward Codes - The "My Coke Rewards" program is changing.  The last day to enter codes for points is March 22, 2017.  Please bring your Coke product caps/multi-pack codes to school as soon as possible so we can turn in as many points as we can by that deadline.  Codes are found on Coke, Minute Maid, Powerade and Dasani products. We are not sure on the changes past March, if you're willing, please keep collecting and turning in caps after that date in case they offer a different way to support our PTO.  Thank you to everyone who has donated their codes to help our school. We've earned a lot of money for our PTO through this program over the years, and we couldn't have done so without your help! Please contact Ria Steffey ( ria.wlpsg@att.net) with any questions.
