May is here and the Black House opens for tours on Tuesday, May 2nd. Our May hours are 1 to 4 pm, Tuesday through Sunday.  Our community and school programs begin for the season this month.  Please enjoy the articles on our upcoming activities and plan your visit to Woodlawn in coming weeks.

Delight Mom with a fun-packed Mothers Day at Woodlawn!  
 
Mothers Day will be packed with fun on Sunday, May 14 from 1 -4 p.m. when all moms get to tour the Black House free of charge and the Seal Cove Auto Museum will be here with its 1921 Mercer automobile giving free rides for all our visitors.*

Families are invited to make a day of it by packing a picnic, bringing along a kite for flying and shoes for walking the trails.  The grounds are open, dawn to dusk free of charge.  

*The Seal Cove Auto Museum will have a car at Woodlawn, weather permitting.
2017 Nature Programs at Woodlawn 

Naturalist Lynn Havsall returns to Woodlawn in May for a fourth season of, Nature Programs at Woodlawn. She has six new programs planned for the evening talks, which are offered free of charge to the public.  The talks are once a month on a Wednesday evening, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in our Sleigh Barn.

 Innovations! Spring Field Days for
7th and 8th graders 

On May 30th and 31st, the grounds of Woodlawn will be bustling with activity as we hold the third annual Innovations! Spring Field Days. The curriculum, designed for 7th and 8th graders will be presented by Woodlawn, Seal Cove Auto Museum , The Jackson Laboratory, Maine Discovery Museum and Maine Center for Coastal Fisheries. The full day program meets the requirements of the Maine Learning Results.

The Ellsworth Antiques Show at Woodlawn

This year's Show is shaping up to be one that you don't want to miss!  Skinner, Inc and Boston Private are returning as the 2017 presenting sponsors.
The planning committee is lining up a great list of dealers, tasty food selections catered by Chipper's Restaurant and several new additions sure to be a lot of fun.  Watch for details coming soon!

The Opening Night Cocktail Party and Dinner, Wednesday, August 16 starts at 5 p.m. The Antiques Show: Thursday - Saturday, Aug. 17-19. 
Show Hours: Thursday and Friday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.
