Kona: Lots of love changes a sweet kitten's luck!

Will rubbing a cat's belly bring you good luck? Some cats might not appreciate such a gesture, but a very special kitten we know happens to love having her belly rubbed - so much that her foster mom jokes that she's part dog! It's hard to believe that just weeks ago, sweet, friendly Kona desperately need ed her luck to change for the better...

HAPPY TAILS
Cody's very special "happy tail"

Cody was here at Sonoma Humane Society for just over 3 years. He was adopted twice before but, through no fault of his own, came back to us both times. In early January, a man named John came in to inquire about him. He'd met him the year prior but Cody needed to be an "only pet" and John had a resident rescue dog at home. When John's dog passed away late last year, he visited our website and saw that Cody was still waiting for a home. John and his wife Diane visited Cody several times over the course of a few weeks to make sure that bringing him home was the right choice for everyone. Our staff and volunteers waited with great anticipation and hope... and on January 13th, John appeared at the shelter, leash in hand. He adopted Cody and took him home to his beautiful 2 acre retreat! John works from home and is able to spend lots of quality time with his handsome dog. He and Cody walk together 6 times a day and Cody likes to take a power nap after each walk! Diane reports that Cody enjoys exploring and that he's feeling more at home with each passing day. This is the best news!

We want to thank everyone who played such a big part in keeping Cody happy, healthy and loved during his time at SHS - and to everyone who helped Cody find his forever home!
Comfy companionship for Patches!

This lovely lady recently lost her cat to old age, and her other cat was very lonely. She came in hoping to find him a new friend. She fell in love with Patches, a friendly, easy-going senior kitty who had recently undergone surgery on her ears. She looked past Patches' tattered ears and decided that she would make a fine companion for her cat. Happy trails, sweet Patches!
Way to go, Wendall!

When a wonderful person came looking to find a companion for her rabbit, we hoped this would be Wendall's chance. He had been at the shelter over a year. When the two buns met things went really well. And by the second date there were bunny flops and kisses going back and forth. So they made it official and a lifelong bunny bro-out has ensued! Way to go, Wendall!
