A Message From ADAA's Board President
Hello,

Welcome to ADAA's first issue of She Triumphs! First, I would like to thank you for subscribing. The fact that anxiety, depression, and eating disorders are much more common in women than in men makes it all the more important that we pay special attention to women’s issues. Certain types of disorders which are unique to women, such as premenstrual dysphoric disorder, postpartum disorders, and periomenopause disorder are not well understood and need and deserve much more research and support. ADAA’s decision to make this a priority is in line with its core mission and another reason why I stand by ADAA and encourage others to do the same. #SheTriumphs #EndtheStigma
Sincerely,
Beth Salcedo, MD

"Working with women to overcome anxiety and depression related disorders is so satisfying. Women tend to suffer in silence, feeling ashamed of their symptoms. Instead they need to realize that they are part of a great army of women who can overcome their unique risk factors for these disorders by working together."
