Featured Career Industry Sector
Every month, we will be featuring a workforce industry to keep students informed about different career pathways that are available. The San Marcos Promise wants to help steer SMUSD students in a pathway that is in line with their strengths and interests. We know that choosing a career can be difficult, especially without a plan. At the Future Center (255 Pico Ave. Ste 103), we have resources available for the students to come in and get the help that they need. This month we are featuring: Advanced Manufacturing .
Promise Program Updates
LEAP KH 2017
Students at Knob Hill Elementary School began their 8 week enrichment courses in various subjects, including Exploration Stations, STEAM Stars, LEAP into Art, Rhythmic Drumming, Mindfulness & Yoga, and GamesMakers.

On November 2nd, The San Marcos Promise hosted another Sips For Scholarships Cocktail Party. The venue was located at PIMA Medical Institute. San Marcos Promise Scholars attend this event to share their educational experiences and how The Promise has impacted their life. CLICK HERE for more photos

New Palomar College Tours!
On Friday October 20th, MHHS and SMHS seniors attended a tour at Palomar College. Students who are currently enrolled in the Math 50/60 course were eligible to attend this field trip.

PACE Promise Spotlight
Sabrina Meleka is a first year at CSUSM and we are thrilled to have her as a PACE Promise Scholar. We are excited for your journey at Cal State, and we are here for you!
Class of: 2021
Major: I'm going to be majoring in pre business at CSUSM and then eventually management. My future career goal is to work in Human Resources.
Education: Richland Elementary, Woodland Park Middle School, Mission Hills High School.
Impact of the PACE Promise : “ I hope that the Pace Promise will grant me with certain tools and necessities needed in order to graduate on time.”
Fun Fact: “Something that might surprise you about me is that I was the president of the L.E.O. ( Leadership, Experience, Opportunity) Club at my high school. The club focuses on assisting the community with an emphasis on aiding the visually impaired.”

Sips for Scholarships Coffee Cart
Now Open!
This is not just any ordinary coffee cart...its a donation based program to benefit the expansion of college and career readiness in schools and provide scholarships for students!

So, if you find yourself in the San Marcos Unified School District Offices and in need of a little energy, swing by Suite 103 to sample our freshly-brewed coffee or grab a snack satisfy your sweet tooth.
