Spring is a time often associated with growth and renewal, which is apropos to the work we are engaged in as an organization at the moment. We look back with intention to learn where we have come from and what we have achieved to better guide us in where we can adapt, innovate, and set new goals for future development.

We would like to thank the more than 125 delegates that took the time to complete the Showcase 2018 Survey. It is important for us to hear from our members and Showcase attendees and as always, we are happy to hear what worked and where we can continue to evolve.

"I was new to IPAY this year and didn't know what to expect and it exceeded my expectations!"

We valued hearing your critical and constructive response to our  additional  programs this year; including Off-IPAY presentations, Affinity  Groups, and Show & Tell Spotlights. It is very beneficial for us to receive feedback about the primary events of Showcase, such as the structure of the Exhibit Hall, the variety of selected Showcase companies, the impact of Kindling, and the balance of travel time within our schedule.

"I loved everything about the SPARK Sessions. EVERYTHING. Please do it again next year!

"Loved the schedule this year, felt really manageable and still felt like it was jammed packed. Great job!"

"[Kindling] provided a good opportunity to hear different experiences and perspectives from people in the field I otherwise would never get to hear.

In our 2017 Survey, members wondered about alternatives in some areas after our conference in Madison.  It is valuable to receive specific responses about improvements made in 2018.

"Moving the Spotlights to mid-day and changing the format to Show and Tell was so very helpful."

"I appreciate that IPAY listens and think that having the affinity group is a game changer this year in hearing from the agents/managers."

It is equally important to hear specific feedback about potential adjustments for 2019.

"There could be much more at IPAY and at Kindling sessions overall for pre-teen and teen audiences."

"Having the two halls was difficult, I tried to split my time between the two, but by Saturday I needed to get to both halls and only had time for one."

We are happy to say that we have already solved this one and will have our Exhibit Hall on one floor for Showcase 2019!  Stay tuned for more innovation and changes to energize our market and gathering place.

IPAY celebrates ongoing support of  artistic development through the  Colleen Porter Artist Development Fund.   I am very proud to say that since it's inception in 2013, the Porter Artist Development Fund has supported the residency and development of seven young artists dedicated to creating new and innovative work for young people.

Most  recently  Mélissa Smith  and  Amanda Pintore joined us in Philadelphia for Showcase 2018, with Amanda finishing off a full year in the program and Mélissa beginning hers.   Recipients in the program receive support to attend a facilitated residency experience at two consecutive Showcases as well as a two-week internship at AprilFestival in Denmark, supported by our friends at Teatercentrum in Copenhagen.

This important program, created in honour of the life and spirit of Colleen Porter, is 100% funded through money raised through IPAY community efforts such as the charity auction held at Showcase and through a  YouCaring Crowdfunding Campaign.  We invite you to celebrate theatre with us and to contribute to the development of artistic growth through your support of this campaign. This money will go towards covering the costs of bringing a young artist to IPAY and AprilFestival. 100% of funds raised through this campaign go towards the support of the selected artists.

We are deeply indebted to those who have supported this program since its inception and those who have joined us in support along the way - all donations are greatly appreciated and every contribution helps get us closer. Thank you for your support of the continued growth of the sector and please share this campaign with your friends and colleagues. Click here to donate today.

YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS! We're at 50%
We have raised $2,505 of our $5,000 GOAL for the Colleen Porter Artist Development Fund Campaign. We need an extra push from YOU, our community, to continue supporting emerging artists in Colleen's honor.

In five years of this program IPAY has facilitated the growth of seven amazing artists. Colleen would be in awe of the talent we have supported and would be proud of this program.

Impact through your network!

Please SHARE the campaign with your friends and colleagues that understand the value and importance of supporting development of the arts and supporting creation of performing arts for young people. We know that those that were lucky to have known and loved Colleen will want to support this campaign. But  we hope that even if you didn't know her, you will see the importance of this cause and make a donation.
