Tuesday night, August 1, Almaden Hills UMC will host the National Night Out event for the neighborhood adjacent to the church. As has been a tradition in recent years, backpacks with school supplies will be distributed to children who live in the low-income Hoffman-Via Monte area.
The Joint Youth Ministry will again be hosting carnival style games for kids to play while parents wait for backpacks and BBQ'ing food!
We Need:
4:00 - 7:30pm:
5 teens to help with food prep. We are BBQ'ing food and will need help with chopping and assembling beforehand as well.
4:00pm - 5:30pm:
3 teens to help set up games. If you have ideas for creative games we can set up we would love that as well!
5:00pm - 7:30pm:
5 - 7 teens to help run the games. You will instruct kids and hand out prizes.
7:00pm - 8:00pm: A few kids and adults to help clean up!
Parents, you are welcome to help us out as well with any of these activities.
If you or your student can volunteer for a portion or the entire night, please e-mail Lisa at [email protected]
Families, can't attend but want to help?
The AHUMC Outreach Commission is organizing the event and needs assistance to make it happen smoothly:
Your financial donations can help purchase the backpacks and school supplies. Make checks payable to AHUMC and note “backpacks” on your check..
If you would like to help fill the backpacks with age appropriate school supplies, please join us in the Fellowship Hall after church on Sunday, July 30.
If you have any questions, please contact our Outreach Chair, Bruce Eshleman via e-mail at
[email protected] or via phone at (408) 218-7524.
