FloridaWest joined Governor Rick Scott Friday at Navy Federal Credit Union for a roundtable discussion on economic development and ways that our state can continue leading the nation in job creation. Florida leads the nation among large states job creation, and now is not the time to start slowing down.

The FloridaWest board continues to support the important work of Enterprise Florida in growing jobs in Northwest Florida.

Career Academy Superstars Honored

The 2017 Escambia County Career Academy Award winners were recognized at the 2017 Escambia and Santa Rosa Career Academy Awards Luncheon at the Hilton Garden Inn Wednesday.

“The Escambia County Workforce Education Department appreciates the commitment and hard work of all career academy teachers and we are excited to take a moment to celebrate the successes of our career academies together with Santa Rosa County, our partners and our contacts in economic development,” said Dr. Michelle Taylor, ECSD’s Director of Workforce Education.

Celebrating the American Airlines Daily to DC

Tuesday morning FloridaWest CEO Scott Luth and Escambia County Commission Chair Doug Underhill joined Pensacola Mayor Ashton Hayward as he helped cut the ribbon celebrating the new non-stop air service to Washington DC by American Airlines. These flights will depart daily at 3:15pm from Pensacola International Airport to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA).
