2017 Distinguished Alumnus Award
:
The Honorable S. Jay Plager `52
|
|
Judge Plager is Circuit Judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He was appointed to the court by President George H. W. Bush in 1989
He has served on the Association`s Board of Directors since 2014.

2017 Distinguished Service Award:
Leo H. "Rusty" Phelan, '59.
|
Rusty is a past Director (2006-2012) and Secretary (2007-2012) of the UNC NROTC Alumni Association and has also served as Reunion Chair.

2016 Distinguished Service Award:
YNCM Donald R. Ledford, USN (Ret.)
|
|
Master Chief Ledford served as the Unit`s Admin Officer and Senior Enlisted Leader from 1981-1985, After retirement from the U. S. Navy he served as the University`s Department of Naval Science Administrator from 1986 through his civilian retirement in 2004. He helped found the UNC NROTC Alumni Association in 1990 and served as the Association's Registered Agent when the Association was incorporated in 1998 through 2016.

Veterans Day Commemoration. The ceremony schedule is not yet published but is expected to take place on
Friday, 10 November 2017, which is the observed Federal Holiday. Details will be forthcoming when available.
