Poet explains depression in a 3-minute poem so powerful—teachers are sharing it with students

Depression in 3 minutesDepression can affect anyone at any time and is often very misunderstood - especially by those who've never experienced it. People often say to a friend or family member going through depression, "Snap out of it!" or "Go out - have some fun - think happy thoughts!" But depression is not something you can think away when it hits. According to the World Health Organization, 350 million people around the world suffer from depression with 14.8 million here in the United States. There are different types of depression caused by genetics, biological factors, physical illness, great loss...there are many triggers and many treatments.

Housecalls for the Homebound

More than 4,000 homebound patients in the New York City metropolitan area have been treated by Housecalls for the Homebound.

Hospitals with higher than average rates of readmissions have contracted with Housecalls to see recently discharged patients in need of additional medical care.

Lupin's holistic approach and ability to administer real-time changes to medications and treatment plans has led to 50 percent reductions in hospitalizations.
